It's a damn shame that the decent Virginians will be stuck with this shiat for the foreseeable future, since Republicans control most of the state government and will be doing their damnedest to entrench themselves.

If only the Democrats could have run someone with actual ideas, who didn't support the same shiatty bunch of union-busting coonts as the Republican and whose campaign didn't consist almost entirely of shooting himself in the foot.

FTA " tasked with reviewing the state's curriculum and policies within the department of education, to identify "inherently divisive concepts". The order also bans an executive employee from "directing or otherwise compelling students to personally affirm, adopt, or adhere to inherently divisive concepts""

The problem with republicans today and the division we see isn't down to the rules they make, or laws they create - it's that they genuinely don't expect to follow their own laws themselves.
Look at this as a perfect example, there is nothing more divisive than religion but they will not make any move to shut down faith schools in the state nor ban their curriculum.

Republicans have no morals. If they complain about Democrats doing something, even if that complaint is absolute bullshiat, you can bet that either they're doing it currently or will do it as soon as they get into power to do so.

The only exception is when they biatch about Democrats actually helping people, because right-wingers do not help poor people. Ever.

He's a Republican. The only way to get ahead in the modern Republican party is to be the biggest piece of shiat possible. If you have even an iota of decency, if you're not a complete waste of oxygen, if you're anything but the absolute worst scum scraped off from beneath the bottom of the barrel, you won't get anywhere in the Party.

But see, the white kids might feel BAD knowing that Black people exist and can do things, and never mind the trauma that would be inflicted if they ever learned that rich white men did anything bad ever. Why, they might even decide to oppose the idea that rich white men are the absolute pinnacle of humanity and should never have their rule questioned!

I desperately want to go home to the jersey shore.  Murphy signed a law protecting abortion rights the other day, and even when we get republican govs, they're insane and corrupt but not hillbillies.

I have ten acres of farm you leave me the farm alone, but I'd trade that for my old house on a postage stamp two blocks from the beach.

He's a vulture capitalist, like Mitt Romney.  Probably picked it up while cosplaying for Yellowstone.

This post was brought to you by Yellowstone.  If you like nude butts of hot people in their 40's and Kevin Costner being all grumpy, ask your doctor if Yellowstone is right for you.  Stream seasons 1-3 of Yellowstone now, only on Peacock.

So, no teaching "Divisive stuff"?

I could probably make a case for almost anything on the curriculum to be considered "Divisive" and so I would quite happily maliciously comply by refusing to teach anything until "divisive" is legally clarified...

Hang on - there are large sections of math that are literally and explicitly divisive.

Whelp, this guy suffers from CEO syndrome. He thinks that writing orders makes it so, and his yes men carry it out.

He has obviously never dealt with legislatures, the civil service, or the courts.

He's almost cute to watch. It's going to be really cute to see him mashed into a paste

It's not just him.  The new AG came in and fired just about all of the states lawyers on his first day (all while dismantling the civil right division as well, no surprise on that one).  He fired career lawyers too, not just political appointees.

I have to respect how right-wingers can clean house ASAP when they take over but donkeys let opposition trash from a previous admin stick around a long time. For example: Louie Dejoy

He says he fired them. I have yet to hear from a person with actual law training that those firing actually happened. Especially given the fact he issued those orders before he was officially sworn in.

And given that he is firing actual lawyers...

Yah. This guy is going to be running straight into brick wall after brick wall before he finds out how shiat actually works in this state.

So you think a state's legal system can work when the bulk of its law staff is fired is a good thing?  As I said, he not only fired political appointees (which is expected), he also fired career lawyers that had been in the AG's office and legal system for multiple admins.

But hey, no lawyers is good if the people coming in are criminals, right?
