Back when Facebook was really gaining in popularity, Myspace still had a lot of lower-class people.  You're going to use the network most of your friends are on, and facebook cascaded down from the Ivies to the college educated and finally to anyone who could make a Gashbasher2013 account at yahoo.

I saw a few references to Myspace at the time as "Digital Detroit."

There doesn't really seem to be any divide quite like that now, except Linked-in is more popular with those of higher income and education, and reddit to a slightly lesser extent.

Fark claims this, but with the constant noise from the "I'm so poooor, the rich people stole my ice cream cone! EaT tHe RiCh!" corner, I'm a bit surprised.

Walmart bucks and white trash chimps. Fantastic. Let's bilk even more from poor and/or stupid people.

This while thing is so far beyond stupid that I don't even know what to say except good luck, everyone. The only ones making money off this are the people who got in on the ground floor. The rest of you are just feeding the narrative and giving it a longer lifespan, allowing it to eat more of you.

Yomagn'tho would be proud of what we're doing to ourselves.

Choo choo    Climb on the train everyone! Train is leaving the station.

Don't worry, crypto will always go up because I have heard that there are dentists in Japan and Korea who are getting ready to buy in now! And then China and India... whoo hoo!!

The shoe shine boys in Wall Street are handing out tips on the best coins!

perhaps you've never heard of Sears Roebuck. for many years SR was the largest wealthiest retailer in America. they chose to ignore the winds of change when the internet became a standard of life. and now SR no longer exists.

you really think the poor and stupid have money and wisdom to place in investments? looks like another Fark genius.

I'd keep not naming them - got several replies deleted today for referencing old school farker account jokes - they're in a mood it seems

Remember "Second Life"? And how every company rushed to create a "presence" in the cietual world?

Haven't heard much about it recently, though I understand it still exists

I've said more than once that Bitcoin is the Esperanto of the currency world.

Wallycoin sounds about as daft as forcing Wallyworld staff to speak to shoppers in Wallyspeak.

The best part of crypto currency is all the hundreds of coins out there, each with their own volatile floating values that still need to be converted to non-crypto currencies for anyone to understand how much value the coin actually "has".

Totally real world ready.

I'm there right now. It's thankfully company-free, compared to other social media. It's great to wander around, find a scenic or artistic spot someone created, and relax.
