I couldn't help but remember that Bo Jackson injury while watching the Bungles play the Raiders in the playoffs yesterday: https://www.wcpo.com/sports/football/bengals/the-bo-jackson-curse-has-an-injury-plagued-the-bengals-playoffs-hopes-for-30-years

You guys lucked out by getting my Raiders in the first round. The Raiders had so many dropped passes and holding penalties that I was starting to think they had money on the Bengals to win.

I didn't notice about either team in particular but it seemed too cold to catch passes. If they weren't in the numbers, they didn't get caught.

The previous Bengals playoff win was closer in time to the Moon Landing than it was to yesterday's win.

It's about time that city had something to cheer about in sports again. Now could the Reds win a playoff series again someday?

Also, we were fuming because Iraq's invasion of Kuwait had pushed our gas prices to over a dollar a gallon.

The Gulf War would begin 10 days later.

Should have replayed the down instead of giving them a TD. Thanks, NFL.

Also, OJ had a nice Bronco.

I think it might be oyster crackers (to go with the chili?).

The only wild card game I remember from that year was Chiefs vs Dolphins.  That was a great game.  Nick Lowery's field goal attempt at the end was just short.  I don't think I really had a rooting interest in that game, just sat there enjoying the whole thing.

Watching the game with the 31-year storyline repeated ad nauseum was brutal. Being a Vegas fan made it worse of course.

By the way, I have up on watching them Eagles/Bucs after after the third play when there was the joke roughing the passer call. Such garbage. Freaking joke.

Same for Detroit Lions. . . . (1991 playoff win - technically on Jan 5 of 1992)

The chili spaghetti is always served with a bowl of oyster crackers.

So you're saying it was closer to the Eisenhower administration.

Oyster crackers
You get a bowl of them even before you order.

The joke in Cincinnati is Mike Brown always asks if the crackers cost extra.

My network server was an AT&T 20 megabyte hard drive with 15 IBM PS2s. Good thing I knew how to write an autoexec.bat file to erase WPbk files with a click.

I actually do feel bad for Marvin Lewis and Andy Dalton. They a couple chances to shorten that drought and missed it. I'm still impressed how much time they gave both, though. It's gotta sting just a little for them though.

There is probably a term that could be used to describe how they would be getting around for a few days, if that ends up being the case.

TBH they really only had one real shot and that was 2013 at home against the Chargers. The 2011 and 2012 playoff teams weren't ready to win in the postseason and were overmatched on the road, the 2014 playoff team basically had nobody left on offense at the end of the year (go back and look who their receivers were in that game), and the 2015 playoff team had a backup QB who never amounted to anything in the NFL. They were extremely fortunate to be in a position to win that '15 game and it was pretty much entirely on the back of that defense (which imploded on the final drive).

Marvin gets a lot of crap for being 0-7 in the playoffs and while I think that's fair to a degree his teams were only favored in two of those games (2009 and 2013). They were expected to lose most of them and they did.

I also think it's worth mentioning that members of the team hit up local restaurants and bars afterwards to drop off game balls to the fans who waited decades for last night.

Downtown, the east end, and Northern Kentucky. Pretty cool gesture IMO.

I am afraid to see what the result would be for a Lions win in the 2nd round of the playoffs (we had a 1st round win about 30 years ago).

Everyone talks about the text message thing, but no one ever mentions that the first WEBSITE didn't go up until 6 months after their last win, either.

That stadium was electric last weekend. Easily one of the greatest experiences of my life.
