The important thing is that we teach kids that adults only see them as objects to score political points.

Better than the religious brainwashing in the other program.

10 year olds are creating a community based on mocking the absurd communities that lap up dogma. It sounds fun.

Also, you're posting in one of these right now. What are you accomplishing?

My comment was in jest.

There's nothing wrong with doing this. I am a member of the Satanic Temple, and they teach good, moral tenets that promote community, kindness, and generosity.

If it pisses off some Christianist hypocrites, so much the better.

Either A. They are allowed in, thus providing an alternative to religious indoctrination at public schools, or B. They aren't allowed in, which means neither are the religious groups. It's a win-win.

Shining a light on Christian hypocrisy and presenting very real legal challenges to Christians willfully ignoring free exercise and equal protection rights.

Christians would of had the same reaction if I organized a Jewish club at my high school. (or a Muslim club at college!)

"What do you mean there's other religions allowed to be here?! This is the Good News club, the only good news that should be allowed is ours!"

Well the ones in my area would of when I graduated. We had the Fellowship of Christian Athletes in my school, and they never were friendly with me, even the members on my school's cross country team weren't friendly when we did meets and I asked about their prayer circle. I guess everyone just thought of me as the Jewish kid when they saw me in high school. Also my old school uses the local fundamentalist Methodist group's auditorium for graduation, and an Christian invocation event was advertised each year by the school for graduating seniors.

It turned out to be a real offer to join a real club. TV6 Investigates spoke with its organizers and found it is a nationwide club, founded by members of the Satanic Temple, who offer it to schools that have after school clubs offered by religious organizations such as the Child Evangelism Fellowship.

Problem?

Only a problem by people who hate the US Constitution, where they want to exclude this and/or other religions and atheists from being allowed to form their own after school group.

Good for them.  If those other uptight assholes want to keep trying to encroach upon the separation of church and state then I'm glad there are people stepping up to show them that sword cuts both ways.

Well I was just one kid, there was other Jews in my school but we weren't bothering ourselves to form a club. But here's some other schools that cause or deal with Christian exclusivity:

That name really fits, more so than Matt Smith or Blake Lively. I'm not sure they could get a following.

I stayed at my school one evening because I wanted to use the telescope they had (I was a teacher).

Got a good image of Saturn and its rings. I took a break and walked into the cafeteria, and saw about a dozen people sitting around. I asked if anyone wanted to have a look at Saturn, and they looked back at me like I had just claimed to have stomped a few kittens and puppies to death.

Found out from the principal the next day that it was a small fundie church that met in the school because they didn't have their own building.

Damn, people! You can believe in your fundie religious stuff AND look through a damn telescope! God allegedly made the "heavens", so take a look every once in awhile!

The ASSC states it will be self-led, with students choosing to read books, engage in coloring or socialize with their peers. They say that Satan will not be a topic of discussion.

Come on! You're not even gonna play D&D? What a rip-off.

Oh, Satan's fan club can be really annoying. Ever met a La Veyite or Settite or a self-styled Luciferian? Tediously self-important and convinced they are the smartest, sexiest, most creative people in the room. And all these rugged individualists seem to end up dressing the same way.

First, letting the Blood Drinkers know doesn't get to indoctrinate kids unopposed.
Second, giving the kids who aren't in the Jew Onna Stick Snack Club their own space
Third, getting the mind-rapers to back off if they're forced to share time and
Fourth, giving school boards an out. Instead of saying "We're not going to allow the Cannibal Cult in" and getting sued they can say "We're not allowing any of the multiple religious groups or we're allowing all of them." When the the "Good News Club" came to Portland Public Schools they were followed quickly by TST. The Gospel Grinders quickly backed down, and TST left, mission accomplished.

The Satanic Children's Big Book of Activities is actually pretty cool. I would have liked it at about age 6

If you allow your kid to either CPS should be knocking at your door.

Proof that playing with a hate-boner too much makes you go blind. It says right there in TFA that TST doesn't worship Satan. They don't believe in supernatural anything. They're there to help preserve freedom of conscience and separation of Church and State
