Can you blame them? Americans are the plague rats of the planet.

I'm starting to think that the world should have banned Americans again instead of South Africans when the latter reported about Omicron.

/prove we can consistently control epidemics without the need for vaccines and maybe we'll be let back in with the adults.

The new Japanese vaccine promises to be "disrespectful" to germs.

You misspelled "evangelicals".

This is not too surprising. Omicron just got done racing through the base where my son in law is stationed, through all the fully vaccinated soldiers. Fortunately, while they were quite sick, it wasn't hospitalization-level illness.

The Japanese have been getting farked over for centuries from gaijin viruses. Up until the 1800s they only let in the Dutch and even then they were restricted only to a few cities like Nagasaki (and even then, tuberculosis spread like wildfire anyway).

You could fart in a Japanese restaurant and no one will bat an eye but if you started coughing profusely you'd clear the room.

They shouldn't have to put up with this shiat.  Japan has gotten its outbreak under control with voluntary masking and anthelmintics.  It's a sad day when the number one threat to your national security is the easily managed yet highly communicable disease that your ally just won't spend the political capital to manage.

Damn good thing they're vaccinated now. Omicron has taken up residence in our house. Everyone is double vacxxed and boosted, so to this point it has meant nothing worse than one mild fever, a couple headaches, and some stuffy noses. Yay science!

In the only study of it's kind, 100% of subjects assayed (N = 44) harbored replication competent virus in the organs and epithelium.

177 out of 177 subjects surveyed are producing highly pathogenic autoantibodies more than a year after infection.

Chronic infection is no joke.  Excess mortality among young adults holding life insurance policies increases by 40% in the year after infection.  These soldiers were maliciously injured by the Biden Administration and should be compensated-it is best that the obtain representation now before the gaslighting intensifies.

Are you trolling or merely unaware of how the U.S. Armed Forces work?

NHK News is covering the outbreak and yesterday played a video of US soldiers at a base in Okinawa competing in a tug-of-war. VERY crowded gym, lots of shouting and cheering, almost nobody wearing masks. Not a good look.

From your own article, about those 44:  "We show ... that virus replication is present in multiple extrapulmonary tissues early in infection."

This thing is an insidious monstrosity from the very bowels of hell itself, but wildly overstating the case does not help.

Rumbling and grumbling about infections spreading from US bases has reached me a couple of times during the last year. In the popular press, there is quite a bit more yelling about it. This kind of stuff gets played up and rarely reaches the point of policy or concrete measures.

Well, it has come to this.

If the J government is finally pointing a finger and imposing measures on the people of these prefectures, it is a sign that the US military has screwed the pooch. This attitude of just "letting COVID go" is decidedly NOT what the Japanese are doing in managing the outbreak, and the US should be embarrassed.

One would think that, here in 2022, someone in the US armed forces would have taken a look at Japan and its numbers and said, "hmm. Maybe we could do what the locals are doing and be healthier for it!" No such luck. They decided to bring their worst practices mentality from the US to their bases and proceed to infect everyone.

I guess I have seen the US military at their best and worst over the years here in Japan. These days, Japan is taking the COVID19 stuff pretty seriously, so behaving like plague animals is not a good look for the US. Mask up, wash up, chew with your mouth closed, and don't infect the locals.

Well, with rape and murder largely off the table, because instead of a free ride to Guam and a dishonorable discharge one now gets a trial in a Japanese court and the hanging, what else is there to do?

It's the CIC's job to tuck in every soldier and sailor, read to them, and remind them to wear masks and practice social distancing. I'm glad you're pointing the finger of blame at the right guy.
