Peki: It's been too long to generate the necessary amount of outrage. Additionally, very little of what they'll reveal is likely to surprise us. All that could possibly result from this is recommended legislation, and depending on the nature of that legislation, may end up actually coming down on leftist activists instead of right-wing violent extremists.
What we really need at this point is announcements about indictments and charges. Anything else is political theater.

sinner4ever: freakay: Had a long text-chat yesterday with an old "friend" I hadn't talked to in years.  He had totally bought into the anti-vax, anti-mask, "what about the children-they need to be mask free or their development is messed up", Oath Keepers are patriots, Democrats were spreading lies about Russia and Trump, etc etc.

I asked him where he got his info, and most of it was online crap on Facebook and YouTube. Joe Rogan.  He also said that he has started to not watch Fox because they are sellouts.

He says the government wants to take his hunting rifles. The government wants to inject him with untested vaccines.

I asked him "why do you fly on planes that were tested by the government?  Why do you trust the science of aeronautics but not vaccines?"

Silence.

These people won't listen. So, what needs to happen is they need to be marginalized in their beliefs. The people in Congress who supported the coup need to be marginalized if not thrown out. House and Senate.

It will be a mess, and unprecedented. But it has to happen, and it has to happen soon.

The wealthy separate us into these teams to fight each other.

On one of those Sunday morning political shows today a professor showed where 1/06 rioters got their information from  .

42% FoxNews OANN etc.
32% CNN MSNBC etc.
10% from social media

Remember that MSNBC made Trump viable while Kelly and FoxNews were in a battle with him initially.

Our corporate media carrying water for the wealthy who yearn for fascism is the problem.

I will say, that with only two Republicans on board, this called committee comes off as highly partisan. If they wanted to remain 'neutral' they should've had an even split.


In the end though, recommendations will be made, complaints and legal legal legal things may be done but it has always ultimately been up to 'We the People' to insure the safety of America, and the integrity of elections, especially when the people's voices (and votes) are being lost, thrown out, and tampered with.


And who knows how long this will take, why, by next year if we're lucky, the Committee will have some fresh members who will waste no time in finishing their investigation. And isn't that what we all really want? An end to investigations and wasting tax other money on nothing more than a documentation of what really happened that day. It was all on TV, and live streamed and posted on social medias. We already know. Stop 🛑 this committee from being dead weight.

ssa5: This will end up just like the Mueller report, so much pre-hype and then nothing. The (R)s by their very nature have no shame or decency, so nothing will tarnish their reputation. The (D)s will jump up and down and then f**k themselves in the end by virtue signaling to their base some cause that will lose them elections (instead of just quietly impacting the unpopular while loudly promoting the popular).

Things not even conceived of have become tired.
