They all have COVID.

I was going to go, but I'm skipping it and concentrating on the NFL next season.

Saving up for those sweet Browns Superb Owl tickets. Or blew it on meth.

If you read the comments, Ray, you'll find they have a perfectly logical explanation:  California is a big bad librul state.

Yeah, I forgot the bowl game is requiring vaccinations, that might factor into it.

Each school is allotted a block of bad seat tickets that the school has to sell at face value.  Meanwhile, the best seat tickets are allotted to all of the corporate partners and officials and other people who aren't fans of either team, and those people immediately dump them on resale markets at below face value because free money.

So if you're a fan, you can pay full price for bad seats from your school, or you can get good seats cheap on Stubhub.

Thus it always is with bowl games. I'm just amazed that Tosu actually got to return the unsold tickets. Usually the school is obligated to eat any unsold allotment tickets and pay for them themselves.

The Rose Bowl went from being THE prize to win in the Big 10 to being a consolation prize because of the collage playoffs.

It costs a lot to go and it's a cross-country trip. Pandemic or no it would very hard to make it out there.

I've only been to the Rose Bowl once (U2, 2017, epic, we were 15' from the stage!).

standing in line outside, was like, ".....this place holds 100K people?  it looks so small from the outside."  (the structure is about 50' from the outside.

then the gates opened and as we walk in, probably half of it is below ground.  the playing surface is maybe, pffffft, 60 or so feet below ground level.  standing on about the 50yd line, looking around, i was like, "damn.....this place is huge."

Or in some cases, they don't have Covid, and aren't about to dive into what's sure to be a superspreader event with the unvaxxed dispshiats

It's a case of been there done that, and also driving from Ohio to California is a pain and flying is awful these days.

This has nothing to do with COVID. If tOSU were in the CFP playing Georgia tickets would have sold out. But, hey, two SEC teams are in the playoffs so ESPN's master plan is working to perfection.

Never been to a bowl game but I watched Cal beat UCLA there one year. My friend was a UCLA fan and we got game day tickets. The only seats available were right in the middle of the Cal Section. Can't tell you how much collateral splatter I was hit with from people targeting my friend's UCLA jersey all game long. Worse than wearing 49ers gear in the Black Hole.

I love half a block from the parade route. I enjoy being able to watch the parade and not deal with the nightmare traffic afterwards due to Colorado Blvd being shut down.

(Also, the parade gets boring after a while. It's just marching band - horses - float - marching band - horses - float on repeat. I usually only watch for a half hour or so.)

ha, nice.

my wife (UofA alum) got student section tickets for the ASU/UofA game when we were both about 30yrs old.  I wore my ASU (grad school grad, but parents raised me as  a Sun Devil) gold shirt.  wife:  "uh........we're in the student section."

"Yeah, so farking what?"

".....You're gonna get your ass kicked!"

I was literally surrounded by UofA white (they did a 'whiteout' game) and, as I said, 30yr old me was getting shiat-talked - mainly good natured - the whole game.  there were 3-4 frat boys (all about 18-19 yrs old) shiat talking me, one in particular:  an a drunk at 1130AM for a 1PM game, he was slurring, "yeah man, we're gonnna .......gonnna.....fark your shiat up, brrrrroooooo, bro, shhhherrrrioussshly, bro....."

he puked all over himself and most likely others and was passed the fark out by halftime, and no, 30yr old, in pretty good physical condition at the time me, did not get my ass kicked.  shiat was talked - both ways - but good naturedly and with no issues.

Florida not placing the wellbeing of others ahead of viewing athletic contests between student-athletes in person does not mean that others are similarly irresponsible.

By and large Buckeye fans don't give a shiat about spreading Covid-19.

A decent amount of them also want/wanted Ryan Day out after the first B1G loss of his career.

I hate this moronic fan base.

Ahia St fans tapped out when they lost to Michigan.  They will say they don't care unless they win and Michigan loses their playoff game, in which case they will exclaim the virtue of their victory for months.

But considering 2/3 of the comments anywhere I see is biatching about California's "totalitarian" COVID restrictions, I'm gonna go with they are, indeed, that irresponsible.

/I mean, they probably have winter homes in Florida anyway...

Utah's quarterback is from Ventura County not too far from Pasadena. That right there will probably increase local turnout for the Ute's.

In the spirit of giving, I am offering $50.00 to the 501(c)(3) of your choice should you come up with a post stating as such by a clearly identified Ohio State fan, anywhere on the web, made prior to the time of your words. I will be the sole judge, fairly, of whether it was said in jest or not. Bookmark this, for that offer will remain on the table.

If the criteria is met, evidence will be provided that the donation was made.

There are even people dumb enough to smart the post above yours so I'm pretty much giving away $50.00 here, that is fully realized.

Oh no doubt - just figure there are always a few that are half-sane.  Sorta like every organization has dipshiats, every organization has semi-sane people somewhere in it.  A least a few of 'em

/even Nazis etc. have some halfway functional goons running around
//note that this doesn't make them a bit less evil - just halfway sane vs. their horse med sucking brethren
///if nothing else you need a few to actually get anything done

I'd wager that 90% of those clowns wouldn't be going to the game regardless.  They're just looking for an excuse to vent their insecurities.

I just showed an aunt The Spirit of Christmas. She is only vaguely familiar with South Park but was genuinely heartened by it, though she was aghast at what preceded the message at the end. In that spirit, name me a 501(c)(3) you want $50.00 to go to. Today, we celebrate the birth of Woody Hayes' son. This is not a day to be dicks to one another.
