Have they tried rebooting?

Look for a car with an odometer stuck at 8008135 miles.

I predict no one will fix this and these Jeeps will be collectors items in 20 years.

As the owner of a Jeep, this is the quality of workmanship that I've come to expect.

I'm going to guess... Wrangler?

I love my Liberty.

I'd also love that charging setup pictured infa.

Why on earth would you need to track the distance traveled in centimeters?

In other words, it's a Chrysler product. Go figure.

My Sprinter had a recall over incompatible software and dash hardware causing a malfunction in one of the engine sensors.  After 12 years. Go figure.

Jeep is setting up charging stations at Badge of Honor trails across the country.  Honestly it's pretty impractical considering it takes two hours at best to fully charge the 4xe but still cool they're doing it.

Wrangler 4xe owners who have traveled less than 13,342 miles in their vehicles will be contacted for a free instrument panel update in late January.

Disassemble the dash to replace the instrument panel? Get ready for a lifetime of creaks, rattles, and squeaks, but could you really notice them in a Jeep Wrangler?

Yep.  And like an abused spouse, I blame myself and owners like me for it being an overengineered piece of crap.  But, it's a convertable 4WD and I can cruise with the doors off, and that goes embarrassingly far in my world.

/I knew I was buying a toy when I bought it

I need to replace the AC vent rings on mine. Not sure why but the farkers keep popping off on me, they don't look broken. It's not like AC vent technology is such a complicated thing that they couldn't make it with non-explody plastic rings.

Doesn't matter. I sold my last Wrangler with 700,000km on it and had a bidding war. People farking love Jeeps it's almost embarrassing what I got for mine and that was with a leaking soft top and the heat not working.

I wonder if the instrument cluster reflashes on these are as bad as doing the S27 Autopark recall.  Only thing I can figure is that Chrysler stores all of the messages in the cluster as bitmapped images rather than text because IPC reflashes take forever.S27 is a four module reflash but the IPC takes eight times as long as the other three combined.

From the S27 recall document:  CAUTION: The PCM/TCM/RFH modules require about 5 minutes each to reprogram. The IPC software requires approximately two hours to complete the reprogramming process. Schedule vehicles in for this recall accordingly.

I'm a man who likes consistency, so I appreciate the fact that Chrysler is very consistent when it comes to manufacturing defective Jeeps. I know two people who have had to invoke CA's Lemon Law to get full refunds on their new vehicles. Both were Jeeps.

Lol, we had an old car with the heat not working, either. I am not a car guy, but even I understood that is an impressive failure.

Heat not working could be as simple as a clogged heater core, which is an absolute bee-eye-itch to replace in a lot of vehicles. Jeep Cherokee? Congratulations, you have to remove the entire dashboard according to factory repair procedure - though you can cut the time in half with a field repair where a guy figured out you can use a ratchet strap to bend back the passenger side of the dash JUST ENOUGH LIKE THIS ----><---- MUCH to barely squeeze the old part out and get the new part in there.

I'll just come out and say it: I love Jeep Wranglers. A HS buddy of mine had one and I've driven them on vacation for a rental car as well. They are, or can be made to be, so capable off road.

Would love to have one, but a $50k+ toy, for me, isn't on the menu, especially considering their current owner (Stellantis). Thus, I have a Toyota 4Runner, and it will probably outlive me (knocks wood).

I've got a 6 year old Wrangler - custom order, bought new when my divorce finalized and I could buy whatever the fark I wanted.

I had two minor warranty issues when it was delivered; a weak 3rd gear synchro and a lugnut had been crossthreaded and damaged the stud. Both were easily handled by the dealership, though I had to go for a drive with the head mechanic so he could feel for himself what I was talking about. That was after a couple of visits where the techs weren't detecting the issue I was describing.

Since then, I've had two recalls: an airbag sensor, and the industry-wide "your airbag will kill you with shrapnel."  Beyond that, I've done nothing but change the oil and air filter. I was a little wary about buying a Chrysler product, but this thing has been solid.

On mine it was apparently the entire module that needed to be swapped. I can't remember what I was quoted but they did have to remove the dash and it was enough that I didn't bother. Other than that I never really had any problems with it just brakes, and an O2 sensor and considering the mileage I put on it I can't really complain.

As a past owner of a 97 TJ, 97 TJ and 95 YJ, I know all about the ways of Mopar and Jeep.

I have long waited to see the shiatshow of an EV Jeep

Somewhere there's a git repo with something like this:

unsigned long long distance

Why would you measure centimeters on a clock?

The ECU probably tracks tenths of a meter traveled and that's displayed in KM or converted to miles for display.
