Oh how I wish style of Japanese cooking would become more mainstream in the states.

I'm sold! I had Popeye's yesterday, but I'm open to other fried chicken styles.

Karage tends to be lighter. Marinate chicken in soy sauce, ginger, garlic. Toss with corn starch, wait until marinade penetrates the corn starch, then fry.

Serve with lemon.

Isn't there not much going on in Gifu?
I remember Intial D being set there, what with the restless youth needing some excitement.

Lately I have been watching Japanese noodle joint videos on YouTube.

I wonder if they have karaage videos.

I'd definitely like to belly up to a noodle place for some booze and noodles.

Cartoons lead me to believe there are stands on every corner in Japan.

I too like ramen and karaage often in  the same meal.

It's probably not the most happening prefecture in Japan. I imagine most people looking for enjoyment gravitate towards Nagoya.

Karaage shops popped up all over the place during Corona. Easy pickup and delivery services through uber, etc., made them extremely popular. There are two dedicated karaage take-out shops within walking distance of my apartment, and that's not including the place that does takoyaki and karaage, the supermarket, the 4 conveniences stores, and the handful of izakaya and restaurants that also serve it.

I'm doing my part, however, since I probably eat about 8 - 10 chunks of the tasty stuff per week myself. Whenever I'm feeling lazy, it's my default choice.
