He got so wrapped up in the "moon shot" references nobody noticed the Off-Road setting screen was Mars.

It's an updated Avalanche with more bells and whistles that a kindergarten orchestra. I hope the plastic trim ages better.

I really think you'll need bigger tires if you're going to roll over a Cybertruck.

So does that mean it gets about 10mpg?

I just watched a vid on the prototype.  $111k usd for a top line hummer.

No thanks.

If Ford or Tesla can actually deliver on their promise of a low(ish) cost ev pickup they will sell them like hotcakes.

goodncold: So does that mean it gets about 10mpg?

Yes, it gets 10mpg because it runs on electric gas.

But the serious answer.  It will cost around $24 (12cent per kwh cost) to fully charge the 200kWh battery which GM claims to have a 392 mile range.  (or around 6 cents a mile)

I suspect that IF they could get their hands on a Cybertruck and run their Mummer over it, that the Hummer would high-center on the Cybertruck and have to be pulled off by a Rivian R1T.

One of my favorite Hummer videos is the one where the Hummer is stuck on a stump at a Jeep Fest and they got the oldest WW2 Willys present to pull it off. Anyone who drives a Hummer to a Jeep Fest deserves public humiliation.

Yikes

I wonder how much a new battery costs on a rig like that.

Whatever, it's your money. Have a blast... I have to wonder what kind of issues that thing is going to have it it gets buried out mudding... because even though it's not made for that, you know some dumbass kid is gonna try it.

You really think that a ev truck will be cheapish.  Ford or Tesla won't release shiat under $75,000 for the next 3 years. Trucks are cash cows.

I'm actually thinking of doing an upgrade to ev from an old Ford F-150.

Ford is selling the electric engine kit just for this purpose.

Might be fun!

It gets about two miles per kWH, most big electric sedans get around three.

How pricey is the kit and What is the plan on the old body being heavier than the new?

...to what sort of customer base?  The one where "Roll Coal" is an acceptable means of retaliation?

Ford pre-sold 200,000 units of the electric pickup. So I don't think they are going to have a big issue other than producing enough of them in a short amount of time.

I think fuel prices are going to convince a fair number to just do the switch.

Unfortunately its already sold out :(

$3900 USD but you have to still provide batteries, inverter and charger.

I don't want a conversion to go long distance. just to haul a trailer and a skidoo.

This post has me wondering how many strawmen will fit into the back of an F-150 Lightning.

I can save on $3+ fuel by buying a $100k truck.

I don't think Ford has "pre-sold" 200k F-150EVs, though that may be the number that clicked ""Yes" I might be interested in potentially purchasing one some time, at some point."

Reservations then for $100.

They feel confident enough with them that they decided to double first year production runs.

I'm still waiting for that affordable Tesla. Obviously what I was is a Model S for the price of a Toyota Prius.
