(Guardian)   Twitter bot regularly posts addresses and photos from random restaurants all over the world. One conclusion: Pizza is a universal food, and most places utterly botch it. Another conclusion: Almost all food pics on the internet are terrible   ( divider line

ScrimBoy: It always surprises me how bad pictures of food are at the restaurant.  Especially if they're displayed on the menu above the register and the images have faded from the back lights.  The composition and lighting is usually terrible and makes the food look totally unappealing.

Better to just provide a menu and loose the images.

I don't want to fart around with a handful of Polaroids while I'm also trying to parse a menu

It's always fascinating how utterly bad a lot of pizzas are. There's a small local chain here that charges $20+ on up for pizza that is usually 95% pizza dough and that's about it.  They add maybe a teaspoon of sauce, three pieces of shredded cheese, and you MAY get a topping or two on your slice if you're lucky.  It's the only non-chain pizza place that delivers so people consistently get it, and have to rave to their friends about how they're shopping locally and all that crap, but man it's awful pizza.

One may see it as pizza, but what if it really is that locale's version of an open-faced red sauce melt sandwich?
