No, it's a standard karate move.  What, exactly, are these dweebs trying to say?

Suedmeyer later told deputies that he had "no intention to provide corporal punishment" but that he became angry after his son didn't respond to his statements.

"Now, see, I wasn't gonna beat his ass, but he didn't respond to my texts about wanting to fight him, and I got angry!"

Yes, a very reasonable response to threats of violence.

Kids are so soft these days.  When we were kids our parents would sweep the legs, place us in a choke hold and then tase us if we didn't finish our vegetables and pack of Lucky Strikes.

And that was at our 4th bday party that was held on a dirt road near the city dump. SMH

Multiple studies by learning establishments have proven conclusively that knowledge retention and grade averages are significantly improved following random and unprovoked acts of violence upon the student. The improvements are shown to be long term and persistent when the violence is applied by a parental figure in law enforcement, preferably with racist and bigoted views on politics.

These are hard facts within the conservative universe, you people need to understand what is happening to this father's rights here.

If you're 15 years and your dad is a cop AND you call the cops to stop from beating you for bad grades, there might be some issues at home.

At 15 years old, my dad said I was too old for spankings and it would be a good old fashioned ass kicking if my grades slipped anymore. It kind of worked (we never fought) but what worked better was promising $50 per A. I was on the principals list that year.

/I wouldn't have called the cops
//because I saw him kick my brothers ass for stealing a car

Beating is an essential part of parenting. However a parent can't retroactively make up for insufficient beating in early childhood by administering harsher beatings later.

So what? More parents should care this much about how their kid is doing in school. One of my friends is a teacher and he says not even half the parents show up for conference night or will return a phone call or email about their kid's grades. School isn't supposed to be a daycare but for a lot of parents that seems to be exactly how they are using it. I'm not sure beating your kid is the best way to get him to pay attention in school but it sure seems like it might work better than not doing anything at all.

This is a great point. So what if this guy assaults his own child? Other parents don't go to conference night.

Problem is is that learning the material in school is not going to work for a significant number of kids and beating them won't change that. Maybe you actually have to go over the math problems/encourage daily reading, etc. Which very few people do. I had a patient sent to me who was struggling at school. Normal intelligence on IQ testing but somehow didn't even understand the concept of division. Family did absolutely no education outside of school and somehow this was completely missed. Math facts really do have to be memorized outside of school for many children. Reading also needs to happen.

Domestic violence towards one's children is hardly exclusive to white parents. Hell earlier this week there was a 150+ thread about an Indian girl being beheaded by her family and a 14 year old Mexican girl arrested for not going through with an arranged marriage.

The kid is failing in school he was being a disobedient shiat when his dad confronted him about it so his dad pushed him  to the ground. Nothing in the complaint says he was stomping the life out of his kid. Parents should care this much about how their kids are doing and kids should have some farking respect. I guess maybe this Crayola muncher is hoping to move out and live on a universal basic income or something. Life is hard for high school dropouts certainly much harder than being pushed to the ground by your dad.

The kid was failing in school and a disobedient shiat because his dad is a violent, abusive asshole. I don't think dad spent much time reading books to him in bedtime story sessions.

This definitely wasn't the first time. It was just the first time the kid called the police on his violent, abusive asshole dad, after a lifetime of verbal and physical abuse.
