That's barely even a blip on the Trump Corruption Scale.

She amended filings to make them accurate.  That's a gross ethics violation to a Republican.

Allegations of ethics violations?

By Florida Republicans?

Did they immediately burst into flames?

The Commission members serve two-year terms. Five members are appointed by the Governor, with no more than three from the same political party. One member appointed by the Governor must be a former city or county official. Two members are appointed by the President of the Senate and two members by the Speaker of the House of Representatives. Neither the President nor the Speaker may appoint more than one member from the same political party.
A board selected entirely by Florida Republicans I'm sure is totally above board with no corrupt intentions.

That would happen if a just God existed.

Sorry, but we're on our own to straighten this mess out, to prosecute those responsible for corrupting our democracy.

/Vote, campaign like your lives depended on such.

That does it. I'm voting Republican

The Republicans in Missouri pulled the same BS for our state auditor who was running for governor on the Dem ticket. "Coincidentally"
the investigation was dropped just days after she lost to a braindead farmer.

If you have ethics, you're breaking the law in Florida.

What are the odds there's a "Constitution party" or "Patriot party" to fill those requirements.

We got both kinds, country and western!

Speaking of which, what's going on with that woman that DeSantis basically terrorized and kidnapped?

With a name like this, you would think the conservative press would be taking a deep dive and really saturating this hot pile of salty news

Nikki Fried: "Oopsie, I accidentally forgot to disclose $350,000 in unreported earnings. Thank goodness my accountant brought it to my attention so I can update my filings. We good?"

Fried supporters: "OMG how transparent!!1!"

That is actually pretty transparent by Florida standards.

The fact she actually bothered to fix it is why it's so newsworthy.

So... what you're saying is... is that the Florida GQP is afraid of this Democrat. Because they've been trying to kill most of their own constituents for the past 2 years, and having a decent human being running against them MAY just have enough votes to win through the corrupt electoral process there.

/The GOP is ALL fear right now. No matter how many "good" stories come down the pipe about their political chances. I wonder why?

It was retaliatory bullshiat because she's good at her job and Republicans are corrupt assholes.

Florida has some excellent ethics laws and anti political corruption laws. Much tighter than many states. Of course they are only enforced against Democrats. But still, some good reporting and government transparency laws.

You might want to look into the Trump administration white house staff SF-86 financial and foreign contact disclosure problems.

If you think failing to disclose $350,000 on the first round is bad, you are in for a huge shock.

I think the Florida GOP knows how much the actual number of Covid deaths are going to affect them on Election Day.

You've got Fried, then add in Val Demmings as a strong contender against Marco, and then add in whatever happens to Gaetz and other GOPers with that case. The next year in Florida politics is going to be a mess, and DeathSantis and the rest of his cult deserve all of it.

Fried after she amended two filings showing previously unreported earnings of more than $350,000.

Happens to me all the time.  I'm always forgetting about that $350K I earned. Piddly amount like that is easy to have slip your mind.

If, as an elected official, you put your investment earnings in a blind trust and your accountant does your tax forms, then yes it's highly likely. It's across 5 years too. This is called "the right thing to do." I know, wild shiat.

What the hellish style of writing is that?

I would almost prefer the 'a tweet said this', "actual quote of the tweet", screenshot of the tweet, breakdown of the tweet, then repeat for the replies to the tweet.

don't forget christ. the former republican Gov turned Dem. I will vote for Fried in the primary, but christ with his name recognition and conservative bonnafides could win it all.
