If I were still dating and not married, pretty sure I would draw the line on dating nazis.

It may be a low bar, but it's still a bar.

2021-12-08 1:40:02 PM
I would never date a republican.

2021-12-08 1:40:31 PM
I have dated Republican women. But one does grow tired of the racism, bigotry and instability caused by believing in bizarre fantasies.

2021-12-08 1:40:43 PM
There was never a time when the bottom line platform of the GOP wasn't anti every thing but white males, money, and war but there was a time they pretended it wasn't always about that every second of their lives. Now they don't bother to hide the love of money and violence and hatred of all races and types of people besides white folks. Why would anyone who wasn't a racist lover of money and violence bother to date one?

It's really hard to romance someone when you so desperately want them dead and/or subjugated

2021-12-08 1:41:25 PM
Young college republicans more likely to despise humanity and common decency.

2021-12-08 1:42:09 PM
Pretty sure the bumper stick goes "Just say no to sex with pro-lifers".

2021-12-08 1:42:28 PM
I dated a Republican once.

Then I realized why nobody wants to date them.

Jekyll and Hyde hook up. Go to bed with the hot classmate, wake up with a Proud Boy or a Karen

Whereas young college Republicans don't bother with the consensual rigamarole of dating?

2021-12-08 1:43:24 PM
I mean, college Republicans are essentially this:

This is just a gussied up version of the "It's your fault you won't sleep with me because you are intolerant of my rampant misogyny and racism" that incels spout.  Besides, don't conseravagelicals always spout off about unequal yokes and shiat?  Why are they trying to get involved with the subhuman anyway?

Doing an admitted right wing Christian is in itself a triumph when know your going to leave an upper decker in the bathroom and ghost them.

...kids today, pfff.

Being single again in my 40's, covid and trump voters have made dating somewhat unapproachable.

Aren't college republicans mostly interested in down-low man on man sex anyway?

It's not just college aged people.  These "Woe be upon the conservatives, for no one will dare to love them" articles for years.

Conservatives are reprehensible people, and their struggles to find partners they don't have to entrap into a relationship are the result of that.

Who on earth would date a Republican? The guys are all drunken rape-and-forced-birth enthusiasts and the gals store ammo in their cooters.

In other words, young people know how to avoid toxic idiots.

That's a good thing.

2021-12-08 1:54:12 PM
Date? No, but as a guy, I might hate-fark a few. Have them walking home hating themselves, then calling me a week later for round 2.

Who am I kidding? I'm 57 and married for 25 years (and one of my kids has a fark account) - won't happen

Yeah well try all that and living in a small town.

If all of these conservatives are upset about being turned down by liberals, that kind of demonstrates that conservatives don't want to date conservatives either.

2021-12-08 1:54:41 PM
I'll bet they take that whole 'age of consent' thing a lot more seriously than their conservative counterparts as well - it's called having standards, and they should really try out the concept sometime.

Either that or being humiliated by a dominatrix they call mother.

Yeah, at least you can pick them out on the dating profiles.  if the gal has a pick at the gun range, you can be pretty sure that's not a match.

How strange that the constant conservative drumbeat of "college kids are liberal pervert idiot commies" resulted in college kids disliking conservatives.

odinsposse: How strange that the constant conservative drumbeat of "college kids are liberal pervert idiot commies" resulted in college kids disliking conservatives.

Disliking is not an issue for conservatives.  If you like them, they can't get wood about raping you.  They just want to shame you into getting into the van, so they can rape you.  You don't really expect a conservative to work for anything do you?  They have slaves for that shiat.

I was the Canadian equivalent when I entered university.  Not a full MAGA type, as I was a science-lovin' atheist, but a right winger all about bootstraps and law & order and not much time for immigration (not about race, BTW, just against immigration in general).

It wasn't about hatred or disgust.  At the time and based on my limited life experience - and growing up in the 'greed is good' 80s - it just seemed like the logical way to run things.

Of course, that's probably why I outgrew it.  If it had been rooted in hatred I might not have.

I avoid talking to Republicans (and farking Libertarians) whenever possible. I work with a few, my boss is one, and I have to talk to them. But that's about it. And my boss is slowly coming around, I think.

My dad went full-on Trumper last year, so I haven't talked to him. It's weird - he's always voted Republican, but it was purely about gun rights (which was stupid, but whatever). Or so he said. I never detected a hint of bigotry and hate in him before. But now he's just...vile. I think it's early stages of senility, honestly. And unfortunately "conservatism" isn't recognized in the DSM-5 as a disorder yet.

I would be surprised by this if it was back in the day when we could pretend that there were just ideological differences between the two sides. Since the GOP has gone full bore death cult terrorist, I completely understand.

I never would have completely distance and isolated my immediate family from my parents and their side of the family previous to this. That's slowly started to change during eight years of GOP obstruction under Obama and has simply been solidified under 4 years of TFG. Once you have willfully identified yourself as part of the death cult as far as I'm concerned you simply do not exist anymore at Family reunions, or I don't at family reunions, either way it's the same result and I am happier.

I'm not a young college Dem, but I completely agree with the sentiment.

I was a Republican in the Schwarzenegger mold while my ex-wife was already more of a religious conservative that turned into a modern red hat Republican by way of Palin over the course of a few years as the regressive social agenda and anti-intellectualism became increasingly important to the party on the whole.  While her being that way wasn't the cause of our divorce, it was the cause of a great deal of struggle within myself that hurt our relationship, which eventually unraveled.  I registered as a Democrat in 2012 and I can't see myself ever dating a modern Republican again, and my current self would never date my ex-wife.  I can't love someone who embraces hate and ignorance as virtues

Sure we all know that Liberals/Dems tend to stand by and live by their principles and deeply held beliefs.  Republicans/Conservatives on the other hand are all pretty much hypocritical clowns that pretend to be religious and will fold like a dime store lawn chair if it means they can get laid or or make money off it.

From a Raw Story article on the same poll..

"Some conservatives reacted angrily, and others used it as a tool to bash Democrats. None appeared interested in examining the actions of the right that led to the poll results, such as working to weaponize religion, and attacking abortion, same-sex marriage, voting rights, the Affordable Care Act, mask and vaccine mandates and social distancing, Black Lives Matter and the equality of people of color, the integrity of America's electoral systems, and Democrats themselves." Says it all right there...

I can't believe a group of people who blame all their personal failings on others would blame their personal failings on others.
