The point is to get cheap and easy votes which it will do, especially since he is paying for the signage. Any other costs incurred by the state itself would be negligible since they'd just be part of database changes which they'd just be thrown in with and would happen anyways. Not my area but unless I'm not thinking of something the state will essentially pay nothing and the guy gets freebie votes so that is a win.

That state senator has no affiliation with the OU. He doesn't have a college degree, he's just some radio host from Ponca City who schmoozed his way into the state government.

/Which, given the history of Fark laughing at political news from Oklahoma, seems par for the course.

Isn't that a meme about Texas being awful, not Oklahoma?

It's a meme about there being literally nothing in the Oklahoma panhandle, which is true. Oklahoma being awful is my own personal commentary.

Oklahoma is awful.

When Texas joined the US, the Missouri Compromise forbid slavery above a certain latitude, so Texas willingly gave up that section of land that, through various circumstances, eventually need up attached to Oklahoma.

I repeat, Texas willingly gave up land because they couldn't keep slaves there.

Texas sucks.

Oklahoma sucks for trying to be even worse than Texas.

Well Texas can go fark itself too, and I say that as someone who spent the first 15 years of my life there. I just always saw Oklahoma as the shiattier, more rurally concentrated version of Texas, the one without urban centers. Thanks for the knowledge though, they didn't teach us that I Texas history class, which was an actual thing.

So is he tacking this on to Trump's Hwy which is out in that park of the state?  Too lazy to pay that much attention.
