Even after living in England for a summer, I'm still trying to figure out how to say "biscuits" (like these) in English and "scones" in American.

Specifically, Grandma Utz. The entire ingredients list is potatoes, lard, and salt.

Across the Pond Funfacts!

In Britain, Laysare known as Shaggings, except in Croydon, where due to manufacturing traditions they are still marketed as Ye Olde In N' Outs.

Both are made by PepsiCo, so trying to find differences between them is a fool's errand.

Besides - both pale in comparison to real king of crisps, Salt and Shake:

Bonus points if you bin the satchel and use pink Himalayan salt from Waitrose instead.

In the first part, I was thinking why PepsiCo didn't simply say that there is higher demand for flavor chips but I thought about it for a moment...

In the video the guy says, "....PepsiCo claimed the reason there is a slightly higher price per ounce for flavor chips is because of the added seasoning..."  Then he says, "Ok, they're telling us 'weighs less, costs more, because we're adding more seasoning.' "

Unless the quote to which he refers is different, his own words are that PepsiCo said, "*because* of the added seasoning."  They didn't say they are adding more seasoning.  They said it was simply "because".  That *could* mean *more* seasoning but it could also mean that the *cost* of the seasoning is more.

And the "Lightly Salted" version may cost more because they are doing something other than simply adding less salt.  They are probably changing their formula.  The Lightly Salted version contains less salt but *also* an additional gram of carbs., for example.

A lot of the more niche brands are doing the same basic kettle chip technique while adding a shiat ton more salt and seasoning.

Sure some pop more than others, but I find pretty much everything at and above Kettle/Cape Cod brands to be fairly interchangeable.

Fresh kettle chips from a bar or restaurant, on the other hand...yum. But that's the freshness more than anything else.

Corn tortilla chips are better than any potato chip/crisp.

Second would be pretzel crisps.

Then potato chips, salt and vinegar.

Those tins were fun, but the actual chips were only so so.

I've come around really to only eating Kettle/double crunch type chips.   The normal chips, however flavored, don't really seem worth it.
