They let those hard drives walk out of the building???? Oh man... you gotta think they got zapped with an electromagnet by mistake along the way.

The hard drives all had tamper-proof "evidence" tape on them when the FBI found them, Maguire testified.

Not in the least suspicious.

That was my thought.

They also refer to dangling cables hooked into monitors as 'hard drives', but I'm thinking they are referring to entire computers.

(I know, macs had thunderbolt monitors you could have hard drives connected to, but I doubt that's the case here.)

It would take a truly ridiculous electromagnet to actually make the data on a magnetic hard drive unrecoverable.

Putting them through an MRI machine might do it. The square cube law is a biatch and hard drive heads ride very close to the platters.

I just assume that diamonds are used for bribes to get into country.  They're easy to conceal, easy to smuggle, and fungible to a certain extent.

Well, looks like we now know why all that evidence has led to zero rich chomos getting shivved in prison:

Maguire said that the scope of the search warrant didn't permit the agents to seize the hard drives and CDs, so she left them atop the safe.

When she got a broader warrant and returned to retrieve them, they were gone.

And then the pedophile sex trafficker's attorney handed them back.

And doubtless their contents were terabyte after terabyte of zeros.

I have a super powerful magnet out of an industrial mag-drive pump. I've used it to erase data on floppy disks (yes, I'm old).

I've posted this before, but I believe Epstein or his Lawyer negotiated to turn himself in from his "apartment" or building or whatever. The Fbi didn't find shiat, they were allowed to find it. Epstein could have burned the contents of his safe into a pile of slag and no one would have a clue what was in there. He obviously left everything there in the hopes it work as a get out of jail free card, Diamonds, Tapes, Hard Drives, Passports, etc.

2021-12-07 2:16:45 PM
Trust me, a man iike Epstein needs more than two passports. The ownership of a Island named "Rape Island" should have been a clue.

His lawyers probably killed him because he was a flight risk as well as a dead loss as a client.

2021-12-07 2:16:49 PM
Sources say authorities were initially flummoxed by the signed confession from Epstein's mom, citing a lack of interest in adding further parties to the case...

Why the hell would anyone raid a place such as that, knowing child trafficking and porn are part of the investigation, and not have such devices on the warrant?

Yeah, in the 1980s he had a fake Austrian passport that was apparently used to travel between some European countries (when a passport was required to do that). It must have been a good enough fake to get through customs in a couple places, but less attention was paid to things like that in the past.

He was Jewish and was advised to hide that when overseas so he wouldn't be a kidnapping target, or some story like that.

The passport found was an old fake and was expired for like 2 decades or more.
