Damn, I liked that show, but I thought it was already canceled.  Didn't realize last season was on Peacock

Some of the more interesting kids from season one did not return for season two so I lost interest...I prefer to watch Dennis tend bar, not not teach class.

LazyPredator: Some of the more interesting kids from season one did not return for season two so I lost interest...I prefer to watch Dennis tend bar, not not teach class.

I always entertained the idea that Dennis had changed his name again (not Lafeve), faked some credentials and starting teaching high school  While at the same time, Dee changed her name and got a sweet nanny gig watching some spoiled rich brats in a mansion and Mack founded a tech company.

Charlie and Frank were left to their own devices.

I liked it better than Dennis' show, if I'm being honest.

Hmm, count me in the thought it was dead already category.  It's on in the background sometimes and I'm sure the actor who played the teacher's girlfriend had already switched shows to United States of Al or something like that.

If that sounds vague and uninformed please note that I AM giving 100% just in cycles of 11 days.

Enjoyable show, loved the quirky art direction with that teal color everywhere.

I loved how the show went from a little quirky with an interesting color palette to full-on fever dream (but also with an interesting color palette).

I thought it would be stupid especially with kaitlyn basically playing the exact same character... But i thought it was great.  Disappointed it got cancelled after only 2 seasons.

Also, the cast which played the students changed with the move from NBC to Peacock. They had to cut costs for the move to streaming. Although I thought the writing got better with the Peacock seasons.

Seasons 3-4 on Peacock make clear they're still within one school year.

The last two seasons were pretty bonkers. I'll miss this show.

Both shows were good b/c of the supporting cast, not the "stars." The Mick, the dumb fark boyfriend and the oldest girl stole that show.

I couldn't stand the show at first because the main character was such a dick and seemed to get away with it. Then various people on the show began to see through his BS (starting with the fellow teachers, I believe) then Burt Gummer kicked the snot out of him and the show seemed to get much better.

But yes, weird color on that show.

EQUALS - High quality, DRM-free content, NO viruses and NO interference from ISPs or copyright cops.

In addition to my several paid streaming services, I have been operating this way for all other content for years.  I am not aware of a single virus ever being packaged in an MKV video file.  Even if someone were to craft an MKV file in such a way as to cause a software exploit, what's the attack surface?  My Plex server in a virtual machine?  Which OS?  My streaming box?  My TV?  None of which live anywhere near the sensitive or personal data I actually care about?  Oh noes!  I might have to reset my TV's settings!  The horror.

And as for the ISP, they don't care about (and shouldn't even be able to see) traffic flowing over VPN from another country.  They just don't.  So for anyone thinking about creating a rig like this, don't fall for fear-mongering.  Just make sure your VPN is solid and that you don't double click fishy files on a PC connected to data that you care about.  While a setup like this wasn't the easiest thing, once it's up and running it's low maintenance and works wonderfully.  All it takes is some spare computer hardware, a VPN account and some technical elbow grease.  It's fun and you'll learn some useful skills in the process.

We'll never know because I'm watching shows on the thirty other streaming services I pay for and their show is dead because they stuck it behind one paywall that didn't incentivize me enough to purchase their shiatty streaming service.  Obviously they didn't incentivize many beyond me because, again, dead.

I always wonder how people pay for VPNs. Like, the payment part is the most "on the grid" part of the equation, unless your VPN accepts iTunes gift cards you paid cash for.

I think streaming is at a crossroads. It was great when it was only Netflix , Prime, and Hulu. But, every media company wanted their own walled garden and the bean counters don't realize they no one is going to pay for every streaming service.

Soon, someone is going to offer that as a service.  But soon enough you won't be able to get anything but bundles and tiers that they dictate to you.

Just wait until NBCUniversal moves "30 Rock" to being a Peacock exclusive like they did with "The Office" and "Parks & Recreation" instead of being offered on Netflix and Hulu. Just like what WB is doing with its library series and HBOmax.

The beauty of the steps I outlined above is that the proliferation of streaming services doesn't matter.  I subscribe to a bunch of them, but not all of them.  And my steps are pretty basic.  If you're really skilled, you can automate the whole rig (Sonarr/Radarr).  Just put in the name of the content you want, then kick back and wait for it to show up.

Hey everybody, pirate things!

Hey why do they keep canceling the shows I like?!

2021-12-07 5:44:57 PM
Piracy, much like copyright, happens.  The moment content lands in public hands, it will be pirated, period.  Any efforts to stop it are futile and a waste of time, effort and money.  Good luck drawing a line between an individual show cancellation and piracy.  I see that neither Disney or Paramount have filed for bankruptcy - and yet, their content is the most widely pirated stuff out there.
