Not enough. I'm not getting my hopes up just yet. Show me you can shut down Jonathan Taylor next week and I will finally start to think that maybe we can go all the way.

It is so much more fun going into the season with zero expectations and getting results like these. Lose a RB and another one steps right up... just hope Judon is ok.

Classic Darth Hoodie. Bills... man. I gotta say that they really did not impress me. They had so many chances to win that game and blew them all.

That's ok, we have to do this again in a few weeks. I expect them to play better next time.

I guess you run when you can win that way. But I did think that Mac Jones was supposed to be the next coming of Brady. Guess not. Can't throw in bad weather? Better ship him off to LA and get someone you trust.

ltdanman44: they were stuffing it down the bills throat all night.

Were they really?

They had one long run for a TD on a defensive breakdown, other than that, it wasn't really all that effective. Yeah, if you run the ball 46 times, you are probably going to have 200 yards rushing as a team, especially if the other team isn't doing anything on offence that would require you to have any urgency in your offense.

The real story of that game was once again how ineffective the Bills receivers were. Somebody besides Diggs has to be able to consistently get open, and they should be able to. Teams are going to constantly double Diggs and have a man playing him over the top, effectively triple covering him, to keep him from getting any passes that are longer than 5 or 6 yards. This means everybody else is getting straight man coverage and they need to beat that and get open.

Did you watch the game? They were just eating them up on the run like crazy. Each run was getting 4-5 yards. That is just killing it in the NFL. I was impressed with that O-line. They were making holes you could drive a bus through. Take away that one big run and they still controlled the game on the ground.

It was classic Hoodie, play to your opponents weaknesses. The Bills cannot stop the run. Yet they have a fantastic secondary.

Sean is going to adjust for the next game.

Judon is great. He's going on script talking about how the game plan and the execution and how everybody was working hard, then he says, "Hats off to to the offense, really, everybody.Probably besides Mac. He really didn't do nothin' besides hand the ball off..."

And he smirks, and the "crowd" laughs.

The Bills had 10 men at the line of scrimmage and the Patriots kept running it through them. There was no trickery. The Bills didn't have to wait to see if it was a run. Yet the Patriots still moved the ball. Maybe they weren't scoring touchdowns, but they were keeping the ball in good field position.

Even dropping that run, the Patriots averaged just a hair over 4 yards per carry. That's respectable enough to get consistent first downs, and it's been a recurring weakness of this Bills defense when they face good run blocking teams (like the Titans, RIP Tractorcito). But you're right that the Bills let the Pats get away with it thanks to their anemic offense/lack of separation by receivers not named Diggs.

/Then again, Diggs wanted to be in that situation.
//Or maybe he just hated Captain Kirk that much.

I was talking about the next game against the Pats. But, yeah... they are probably going to get destroyed by the Tampa Bradys. Fournette has been unreal. Combine him with Brady and they probably have no chance.

It's still true today. It just amazes me that an offensive coordinator that grew up going to Bills games can build an offense in Buffalo that is completely incapable of power running.

It was about half and half- Allen makes terrible throws to covered targets when he has wide open guys, and often his targets just whiff an easy catch. The bills need work, Allen needs to stop focusing on the same receiver from snap to throw, and the receivers need some reps on the ball slinger.

More recently, this looked a lot like the game Brissett started due to Deflategate, or a Navy game minus the Bazooka package.

Given that the knock on Jones is that he is more of a touch passer and doesn't really drive the ball it makes sense they limited his throwing opportunities in that wind.

What baffles me is that it took 3 quarters for the Bills to adjust defensively.

Ugly game all around but the Pats showed they can still grind out wins.

I'm past the "everything else is gravy" portion of this season now. Mac is way ahead of where I'd hoped he'd be already, the defense has developed their identity, and some of the kids (Stevenson, Barmore, Duggar) are showing that they belong. As happy as I am with this season I'm even happier that it looks like they've got one hell of a foundation in place for the foreseeable future.

The problem is, the way linemen play ball in college has changed, and the NFL coaches aren't doing what's necessary to transition their skillset to what they need in the pros.

Really?  They couldn't call it the Harpoon or the Tomahawk package?  This is why Navy's only winning 3 games a year, they can't even get their terminology correct.

The main problem here was the 40 MPH winds.  There was a field goal miss where the kicker had a giant video game question mark over his head because the winds just blew the football all over the place.  Same goes for any pass attempts.

Bills had 3 TD's dropped.
- Bomb to Diggs which he lost in the lights
- Shot to knox which he dropped
- Knox getting held in the endzone missed another one

They also had a bunch of penalties NOT called at the end of the game. It should have been 31-14. Any other night those catches are made and it's at least 24-14, if not 31-14 at the end of the game. The pats next time won't be so lucky.

If it wasn't for Harry's muffed punt gift and the phantom unsportsmanlike on a !running! Josh Allen, it would've been a shut out. What ifs sure are fun!

Honestly, the media was reporting that Buffalo was broken in their lockerroom after that game.  It'll be interesting to see the Tampa game.  That could be a fortyburger if the Bills can't pick themselves up and not look ahead 3 weeks.

Those are some hairy what-ifs, too.  I'll take the Bills calls and noncalls down the stretch.  They're going to have to start calling that Dawkins guy "Huggy" and Knox "Pushy".
And Allen and McDermott will have to fight over the name Whiny.  Even Marino waited 5 or 6 years before he started yelling at the clouds.

Man, I'd be f*cking pissed too. I pretty much assumed they would take the AFC hands down this year after that start.

Glad I picked up the Pats to win it all at +2500 for $25... (They are now only behind Tampa, which seems like a real stretch to me)

I have no (realistic) hope in hell of them actually doing it, but if I had a Bills futures ticket, I'd rip that motherf*cker up right now. They are done... L against Bucs penciled in, and then a rematch against the Pats in Gillette?

I mean, aside from those 2 games they do have games against the Falcons, Jets, and Panthers, which are all very winnable.  I wouldn't count them out yet, but they have their work cut out for them.

Be interesting to see how the Bills and Browns end up doing.  Both had sky-high expectations and, like the Browns and Bills almost always do, they totally whiffed.

They're certainly done as far as winning the division though.  Patriots have that locked up easy.

Lol...you guys jump onto flaming tables at a tailgate, throw dildos on the playing field and drunkenly do some of the dumbest shiat of any group of sports fans in the world. Pats fans are the worst?!? LOL.

Not only that laundry list of funny, but you also won the division for the first time in forever, and all of a sudden think it's you're birthright. Jets fans during the Rex Ryan era are laughing at your undeserved hubris.

The Bills couldnt even control the AFC East for a full calendar year before you were literally run back over into your rightful place.

You've been our little biatch for 20 years basically. All of a sudden, you win two games in a season when the Pats start Cam Newton and you're the greatest ever?

You still cant make a farking field goal. Do the rest of us a favor...STFU until YOU WIN A SUPER BOWL!!!

You've won plenty of AFC Championship games. No one cares about those.

Win a Super Bowl, then you can run this smack like you guys are a real franchise. Holy shiat.
