Good for them, and it seems like a type of research that may be useful for improving other types of batteries

The way to prevent dendrites from forming in sodium-sulfur batteries is to operate at temperatures where both the sodium and the sulfur are liquid.

Yeah, Ford developed one of those about 40 years ago. Not practical for vehicles, though it could be used in grid-level storage.

You can trust this article because they didn't claim they'd discovered fire, it simply reports some progress.
