Wonder what ever became of Trump Castle in Atlantic City. Must be making millions of dollars by now.

I was going to write some snarky witty response, but I just want TFG to die a horrible death quickly, his deplorable base to be so desponded they join him, and to never have to think about him or his deplorable loser base again

I assumed it was just an unsold pilot, but....

Apparently 180 episodes.

But in real time, for a daytime show, that's 6 months, with no renewal.  So... it was a joke of a show.

Merv Griffin diversified from game shows to hotel and real estate development during the late 80s. He drank Trump's milkshake on an Atlantic City deal. Clearly, Trump paid him back by totally sucking at game show development.

Hmm. Its literally her only credit in IMDB.  If he DID move on her, she didn't get much permanent benefit careerwise (unless that's how she got the gig in the first place).  In fact, she's only credited in the Pilot episode.Someone named Tabitha Harper is credited as the hostess elsewhere.

Notice that her appearing and getting the "nice dress" from the announcer was the totality of her appearance. That was the fame he promised her. "Hey Baby, I'm going to put you on my game show. You'll be the next Vanna White."

Okay. Forget the above.  Those sources are clearly wrong, because here's another episode, A few weeks in, and Debi is clearly still there.

I remember seeing this on the USA channel in their daytime game show rerun block as a little at-home daycare kid. I remember it being strange how this guy just wanted his name all over the show a la Wheel of Sajak or Press Your Tomarken

You know, it's fun to mock this, but there's some selective memory going on here, admittedly.

Even though people in NY and NJ long knew Trump sucked as a businessman, and THIS show seems lame, a few years later, The Apprentice WAS legitimately entertaining for awhile. It's hard to admit that, but it was true. Donald is epic shiateyness was well hidden, Ivanka seemed legitimately hot, and smart, and Eric and Don Junior... there (less in the early seasons).  Their epic awfulness, the ego, stupidity, horrible ideas, corruption, etc. was only hinted at by Trump's earlier position on The Central Park 5 (because most people forgot about it), and the Trumps actually being clearly known as real estate frauds and tax cheats, was stuff being worked on by law enforcement (later suspiciously dropped) but unknown to most of the general public.

I'm just saying, this definitely didn't evoke the same feelings back then, and The Apprentice certainly didn't, until late in the game.

But its fun to mock him, admittedly.

No, no, no. He needs to die such a slow, humiliating, cowardly death that his followers become so disillusioned that it's all they can think about and they never vote again.

Fittingly enough for a Trump vehicle, it wasn't even an original format. It was based on Bob's Full House, that apparently did run for a few years.

I like many knew he was a fraud and an asshole , since I first heard of him , and I'm Best Coast . I gave the apprentice a total of 5 minutes of my time. Time that I will never get back.

One of my friends from Germany posted a video of the O'Jays "For the Love of Money" on FB. I replied that it was a great song but I couldn't listen to it anymore because it reminded me of TFG's shiatty reality show. "His what? He had a reality show?" You are in for a treat, my kitsch-loving friend, I thought, as I posted a link.
