Someone with 30 years of experience in the music industry gets a contract, which he instinctly believes to be bad, but signs anyway. Two years later he makes a video detailing that his instincts were right.

And I assume the tale is impossible to tell without jump cuts every few seconds?

I watched, and the cuts were only made when he changed topic. This is a very friendly video for people who are older than middle school and haven't been living off Red Bull and pixie sticks


5 cuts in the first minute and all he's doing is sitting and talking.

Looks to me like it was made for the Red Bull/Pixie Sticks crowd.

If you watched it, like I just did, your whole life would be changed.  It had everything in it.  Scams, romance, mystery, more romance, brief nudity, sustained nudity, and plenty of scenes of sex and violence.

I'll never look at oceans and the NYT in the same way again.  The veil has been lifted.

Not a scam. The contract said the NYT writer owned the music and the publisher had full control over it. Anyone signing should have known what they were getting into.

He didn't disclose that he was the publisher as well and the publisher never really did anything.  Thus the NYT writer was getting the lionshare of the profits
