Lets see how long it takes to make this a political argument

And while we are at it, lets make it legal to kill people who bring politics into places where they are not needed

Done.  You may report to the nearest suicide booth.

Now let's get back to discussing what's important about this article: subby said penas.  Heheh.

They're still a 15-yard penalty if you get caught though.

There are plenty of farkers that didn't know. There are still some that derp about how masks don't work.

I think I heard it like this:

If social distancing works there's no point in wearing a mask. If wearing a mask worked, there's no reason to social distance. Therefore don't do either, open up everything.

Some random person once said they don't work back in March 2020 and that's all some people want to know. Sadly.

Can I just say how refreshing it was to get an actual PNAS article about standards of measurement instead of some sort of junk link from a blogger doing a Facebook ifls thing?

Like ... that was genuinely informative. Good job, whoever found that.

Do you have any idea how often Trump gets mentioned in threads that have nothing to do with him?
Talk about stacking bodies...

My opinion is social distancing doesn't work and is why masks are needed.

As I mentioned in a tread yesterday, we've all seen the studies and gifs on how far and wide airborne droplets can spread from simply talking or especially coughing. Six feet is pointless.

Think of it like this. If you and I were in a room together, even 20 feet apart, and I was smoking a cigarette, do you think you could smell my cigarette smoke? If the answer is yes, then that means you're breathing in something that was in my lungs.

Now, I'm not saying you shouldn't try and distance and avoid people when you can but it's not always possible. But if people think they don't need a mask because you're safe being two cart lengths behind someone at the grocery store checkout, they're a moron.

Just wear a mask and get vaxxed.

Oh come on. Who are you going to believe? Some pencil neck researcher who has rigorously studied the data or a well-meated trailer dweller who believes John Kennedy is going to be vice president this January?

I don't know about you guys, but I always put my money on "facts" that are pulled from a fat orange ass.

The distance thing is predicated on a debate as to whether covid spread on aerosols or droplets. Droplets almost totally fall to the ground within 6 feet. Aerosols, like cigarette smoke, do not. Initially it was thought that covid only spread on droplets. Now we know it spreads via both. So yes, masks are essential.

Heh, the local crossing guard is a biatch and mouthy, and told me to tell my daughter to wear her mask; this is the trailer-trash that was dick-nosing it while she spoke to me about my daughter. I told her to cover her nose and walked away.

This is very good news in workplaces. If most people mask/vax they should be good. I appreciate not having to fear and avoid my unvaccinated coworkers.
