Won't lie. I've done the 2 for $5 in the past. Really easy way to get 1300 calories in fast on the cheap.

I might install the app and just go to town on some sandwiches if there isn't a limit or "need to buy such and such for this offer"

The limit is one per account.  My limit is I am not downloading something for any fast food chain.  Also, it is not offered at every Burger King.  Saturday my plan was to stop by Burger King on my way to my cousin's house to watch football.  If the Burger King is packed my plans are altered.  Woe is me.

I think an email account is all that's needed per account.  Possibly a unique credit card if you pre order, but I bet you can pay in cash inside.  So its not TOO bad.

Ah yes, the fast-food place that isn't quite up to McDonald's standards of excellence, much less a good fast food place. 37 cents is still too much.

It's a great burger when it's fresh and the person putting it together isn't a slob. When it's sat up in the window for 20 minutes, that's a totally different story. But yeah, when Burger King had the things priced at 99 cents for like the first 3 years of the 90s, I lived on the damn things.

That's about 37 cents more than I'm willing to pay for BK.  I've been known to make terrible life choices, but eating BK isn't one of them.  Their food sits like a brick for seemingly a week.

The sandwich itself is made to order, and isn't gonna sit in the window for longer than the time it takes between you ordering it and then receiving it.

The burger itself though gets precooked and sits in a steamer for...a while. I FULLY agree about the person putting it together though, that makes a big difference. There's 2 BKs near me, one location they don't give a single fark about assembly, while the other one is generally like picture perfect, and tastes so much better. Sadly, the shiatty one is the closest to me.

I remember when they were a dollar or rather had the dollar a whopper special that was always on-going. College 1990's.

No, I don't want to think about how many of those things I ate.

So you have really tight app standards. What's the most hardcore app you got installed, a weather app?

At the very least, people need to customize the toppings to ensure the first.  I ask for no mayo.

Those onion rings, though.  When I eat them, I produce emissions that can peel the paint from the walls.

As a person who worked at Burger King  your correct.   Unless its the lunch or dinner rush usually then they food is going out so quickly it spend no time to next to no time in the steamer box,  So if you want a guaranteed fresh burger then go during those times but be prepared to wait for your order to get processed and handed to you,

The app literally saved my life when I was homeless & the weather shut down the buses to go get free meals at the Mission. Walking 4 blocks in a blizzard is easier than 4 miles to calorie-load to not freeze to death.

It's always fun and games and laughing at the excess calories these places have in food. But yeah there's those off times where "poor, haven't ate in 2 days. Need food"

I've made out of an Arby's for 2300 calories and like 8 bucks and a lot more protein than I would have with groceries. Sure a lot of fat... but dammit at a certain point calories are calories.

Not sure about 'a lot more protein'... For $8 I'd just as soon get a pound of store-brand deli turkey or a whole roasted chicken.

Not nearly as many calories though, which was the original point

The mozzarella sticks do taste like cardboard and shiat though. Deals don't make them better.

And yes you're correct. Protein is a concern but it's also "I require energy" or to fill that black hole that is your stomach.

Most the time fast food is a complete rip off, you ain't leaving without spending 10 or 15 bucks on combo meals and shiat.

But certain deals pop up and you start looking at calories and the macros... yeah. There's a reason Americans are fat. But if you're poor and trying to get through? You can definitely and cheaply get energy for the next day.
