NPR generally doesn't do screaming. They mostly seem more of the "Keep Calm and Carry On" BBC tradition in their news coverage.

Also, it looks like it may be less than 24 hours since the FOIA response first reached the local media (a couple CBS affiliates and newspaper) who asked.

Finally, the news doesn't seem that surprising.

Just think... if the 1/6 Traitors had worn masks... wouldn't have known who most of them were (offer not good for dumbasses who confessed in their Facebook accounts). Good to know karma is alive and well.

That's a key difference between conservatives and liberals. Conservatives what to find evidence to prove they are right, liberals want the truth then will decide what they believe after seeing the evidence.

In general.

Given this analysis was completed "in 48 hours", it might be worth publishing the vaccination rates in the mask counties and the vaccination rates in the unmasked counties.  Given how effective vaccination is, anything that correlates positively with vaccination is likely to correlate with a drop in covid.  People who live in states with stronger gun control laws also saw larger drops in covid once vaccines were introduced.

2021-12-02 2:54:24 PM
Asbestos kills around 12,000 people a year in the US, and generates a shiatton of class action lawsuits. When, oh lord, will the mask and vaccine deniers pay for their quackery?

Well duh!

Everyone knows masks don't work in reducing the spread of communicable diseases, that's why doctors and nurses don't use them,

Everyone know masks and respirator don't work in reducing exposure to harmful and dangerous chemicals, that's why OSHA doesn't require them.

Farking idiots.

Didn't they do the exact same thing with Pot and gun violence? Conduct their oen tests to prove the stupid libs wrong, ended up proving them absolutely right snd then buried the evidence? And probably a hundred more instances besides those.

Fark him. Yes, children tend to have better outcomes than adults, but COVID was among the top 7 causes of death in every age category last year, pre-Delta and pre-vaccines. Not to mention the long-term effects other than death.

Parsons might actually have gone the furthest off the deep end of the Republican governors.  He came in viewed as a realtively moderate weak governor, and he's gone whole hog for the most lunatic right wing positions since then.

Like, Desantis was recognized as a dipshiat when he came in, so his mini-Trump routine hasn't been surprising.

With Parsons, most folks thought his turn to the right was mostly to stave off a challenge from Greitens, but now he's way past that point.

Has there ever been, or will there ever will be, a point and time when we make a rule saying that "you are not allowed to pass policy on shiat that you know exactly NOTHING about.  Because your ignorance is dangerous and will get people killed."?

Ever?

How on Earth do we let people make the rules about masks and vaccines when they do not actually know a farking thing about the subject?  All they know is what they got from other people that don't know any more than them.  And they ignore the actual experts.

That isn't just stupid.  It's dangerous.  And almost 1 million people have died because of it.

Really... What's it going to take?

These are the same type of evil scum that would gladly poison the water supply with lead if it meant a few extra dollars in their bank accounts.

I guess what I'm trying to say is, none of this should be a surprise and Republicans are sub-human garbage.

Each and every one of them.

See also: YECs and flat earthers.

Also, conservatives want someone punished for every crime (caveat: white POs (or really white people in general) killing unarmed black men is not a 'crime') even if it means an innocent man is sent to prison whereas liberals never want to see an innocent man imprisoned even if it means some crimes go unpunished.

And then the kids pass it to their parents, who pass it to someone else. Each new host adding more chances for mutation.

I just don't get it. How is that not easily understood?

You may have a point - vaccines are far more effective than masks at preventing transmission.  And comparing rates between populations with different levels of vaccination is probably completely meaningless.  While masks are effective and we should have mandates, this study doesn't show it unless they found some way to control for that.

So I guess we should just mandate vaccines instead of masks.  I'd be cool with that.
