I got a chance to go to Tsukiji fish market in Tokyo some years ago. I had some of the freshest, tastiest raw fish I've ever had in my life. At 9am!

Anyway, I figured, if any place is going to have good sushi, it's that place, so I tried the uni. Even at the freshest, tastiest place I've ever had sushi, I couldn't palate the uni.

So uni butter, you aren't for me.

I've only had uni once and I didn't like it but I finished it because a whole critter died for my curiosity.

I bet fresher would be different.

i tried uni at a high end sushi place in SF.  it's... um... not for everyone and that includes me.

Not a of uni myself, but if some people really like it... seems easy enough to make.
Butter is simple, source your uni, blend and season as desired. What's the big deal?

Sometimes if you want something nice you have to do it yourself. *shrug*
