Are you implying that there's another, more recent, Caravaggio?

For the non-article readers.....

A few people went to the ER for a covid test and got the typical ER bill.

/ If you're exposed to Covid go for a test at free drive/walk up outdoor place or a CVS type place.
// If you have a mild emergency go to an urgent care place.  If it's bad they will send you to the ER.
/// If blood is flying out of you go to an ER

I don't think there's much risk of contracting COVID-19 from Caravaggio though so I think I'm good.

things my brain retains:
the woman being forced to sell this property was in playboy in the late 70's/early 80's.  i think she was married to a congressman or having an affair with one at that point.
she had almost comically gravity defying breasts as i recall. in retrospect, maybe an early instance of bolt-ons, but different than todays round orbs. i'm sure one could do some quick research.

things my brain doesn't retain:
anything not in playboy in the 70's/80's.

Yep, you get it in actual cash transferred only to you, while he's still alive or you get nothing.

Texas-born princess?
I mean, other than the Bushs, what does that mean?!

Rita Jenrette Boncompagni Ludovisi. That name sounded familiar. Sure enough, first married to John Jenrette. She was a Playboy model, married to a Congressman from South Carolina. She dumped him after he was convicted of taking a bribe during the Abscam investigation.

$4,000, $400 million, what's a few extra zeroes?

/To many people they are both just as high.

ROME (AP) - A villa in the heart of Rome that features the only known ceiling painted by Caravaggio is being put up for auction by court order after the home was restored by its last occupants: a Texas-born princess and her late husband, a member of one of Rome's aristocratic families.

Anybody want to tell them that Texas doesn't have princesses?

The American princess, who was formerly married to former U.S. congressman John Jenrette, Jr., tears up as she contemplates leaving her home of nearly 20 years. When she married Boncompagni Ludovisi in 2009, the villa had fallen into disrepair, and her new husband only used it as an office.

Should it be renovated into farmhouse chic or modern industrial? That determines whether we get beige or gray paint.

I see you haven't visited Texas.  They have a lot of Queens also.

A painting by Caravaggio alone would go for $200 million at auction; this villa is a bargain.

She's not the first Texan socialite to may into a no-longer-sovereign Italian royal family.

once thought about opening an italian restaurant called caravaggios.  it would be damn near the best standard faire italian in the world, at ~$20 a plate.  but the entrance fee would be getting a black eye from a drunk hobo.  that was also the chef.
