You mean companies designing disposable products not meant to be repaired and using tape, glue, and epoxy.... Forced to sell parts... Doesn't suddenly make them consumer repair friendly?

How can this be!?

You know what else is really tiny and a pain in the ass to fix? Everything really tiny.

There, I just dropped a life lesson on you. Enjoy.

Meh. I just pay t-mobile for insurance. And when it breaks. And oh yes it will break.

Gimme new one. Here's 50 bucks.

Except that s8 active. Like I killed one. But that's the only phone I intentionally killed.

I was perplexed why the hell my usual work life and life style didn't kill the damn thing. Normally a phone with a case is like a 2-4 times a year. Things crunch crawling around in trusses, bracing yourself on studs and ladders, and the whole hiking/backpacking thing doesn't help with murdering phones.

Could not kill the first s8 active. So I threw it into a brick wall where it rolled back onto the roof in a puddle of water.

Perfectly fine.

I chucked it at my boss where it collided into a dumpster at high-speed. Again fell into a puddle of water and didn't die.

It finally died when I farking shot it straight down into the floor at a bar while showing how durable it was....

And then it died. And this is after multiple times of throwing that phone aimlessly or chucking it at people to watch it bounce off hard objects land and be perfectly fine.

Insurance that one out cause nope, no idea why the screen went black and the battery got uncomfortably hot (kinda scared me)

Got refurbished s8 active.

I use an s20 plus now. But the s8 active I'm always keeping as a back up. For music or for an emergency. You have to try to murder that damn thing.

I replaced the battery and bottom connector in my iPhone 6, and I have big hands. And drink too much. It's a matter of being deliberate in your motions. Then again...

"plectrum-like plastic pieces to lever out parts"

Spudger.  It's called a spudger.

scanman61: "plectrum-like plastic pieces to lever out parts"

Spudger.  It's called a spudger.

I thought the spudger was the long thin to with the flat end?

My ex was careless, I've repaired many an iPhone and couple of ipads. It's not hard if you are meticulous, place the tiny screws carefully (they are slightly different lengths) and banish any cats from your workspace.
