(YouTube)   With six games tonight, the regular Wed Night Hockey Thread should have something for most anyone. Rags/Flyers kick things off at 7pm ET. At 7:30 we see if getting rid of whatever was infecting AM's face will help or hurt things for Toronto. Etc, etc   (youtube.com) divider line

So I was hoping for more ESPN2 games on normal nights with the new deal, nope.

ESPN+, and 10pm games on TNT.

The NHL might have got more money out of the TV contract, but they basically OLNd themselves again.

The stream stealing will continue until coverage improves.

Good evening, folks.  I am happy to report that I received my COVID booster earlier today.  For those of us in the United States, our national games tonight are:

Flyers/Rangers @ 7:00pm ET on NHL Network
Penguins/Oilers @ 10:00pm ET on TNT

2021-12-01 7:27:31 PM
Alright, news is off for the night, time for the Leafs on the big TV and the Wings on the tablet, and watching a six year old give a speech to Peterborough before a game just makes me smile

I don't know who the Flyers goalie is, but he should've stopped the last one

Rangers up 2-0

I am an Avs fan but I am happy to pull for the Kraken. especially when they play Detroit.
don't think I get the Avs game tonight but being in PDX I get most all the kraken games on the local sports channel.

before you ask, I am ambivalent about the Seahawks (I went to UW so I like Wilson) and I hate the sounders.

Zebras blew it dead for offsides, no Dreaded and a Half lead for the Rangers.

Nate MacKinnon back in the lineup for the Avs.
They are going with their back-up goalie and he has no backup in the building yet. A minor leauger has been summoned and is on route.

Zamboni driver is standing by.

No no, a University goalie is the EBUG, not a Zamboni driver.  the Leafs still have a chance!

Lundkvist sounds way too much like Lundqvist for it not to be weird whenever they say his name on the Rangers' broadcast.

Yeah, I though that looked wrong. I was thinking of the Ontario highway service centres, I guess.

Probably won't be around much for a couple of hours.  MrsRT has really gotten into The Great British Baking Show (or something like that).  So she's got the tv until 10 & then I get it when the Ducks arrive on the scene.  And as I've more or less gotten into the show/making snarky comments about the culinary disasters...yeah, ok.

_/and as I'm doing lots of organizing of various computer files/cleaning up all sorts of accumulated digital crap, not easy to put a game on in the background here...alas

NEW YORK - The Humane Society has seized Los Angeles Kings forward Brendan Lemieux for biting another player last Saturday.

The 25-year-old American breed was taken away by dog handlers using nets and a noose and placed into custody by city officials.
The biting incident occurred during a hockey game when the off-leash player bit the captain of a struggling hockey team.
Local public health is advising if anyone has been bitten by Lemieux to immediately get a rabies shot.

The NHL Department of Player's Safety says they will fine the player $38,750 and ordered him to wear a muzzle.

That kinda sums up Colorados season so far.  Bursts of outstanding hockey separating stretches of mediocrity.  I can't figure out them out.

Watching the goal replays, I can see the promise that Adam Gaudette held as he scores a power play goal, and then the reason Vancouver gave up on him when he coughs up the puck on the second Vancouver goal.

And for the third Canucks goal, seeing Luke Schenn walk in from the point, drive the net, and roof the puck, I think it's safe to say Ottawa has a bit of an issue with their defensemen.

Luke Schenn should never be dropping the shoulder, cutting inside and firing a wrist shot.  Ever.

Vancouver double-dreads the lead on a power play midway through the third.
The one big distinction between the Canucks and the Senators this year has been that Vancouver's got fairly consistent goaltending. If Vancouver is anywhere near the playoffs this season, Demko deserves a look for the Vezina.
