I made a few dozen double chocolate cookies yesterday. There are still some left, so I was prepared for this headline and will now go get one. Or two. And some milk.

This time of year there are two cookies which do it for me.
White sugar cookies with blue frosting shaped like dreidels, menorahs, and stars of David
Mandelbrot baked twice and rolled in cinnamon and sugar.

Sadly, as of this year, they will never be the same.
Miss you, Mom.

It's been a while, but I use to make mom's chocolate chip cookies and just freeze

Freeze the dough for ice cream toppings.  Might have to do that this week.

I don't even care for salted caramel and I would demolish those.

Although I feel obligated to quibble about whether bars count as cookies.

My high school girlfriend ended up with a cool job at a bakery. I'd stop in all the time when she was working and the boss wasn't there.

The only thing better than a cookie is a free cookie.

Ha! I am dead inside. Don't hate em. I just don't care for sweets and my meal each day is chosen purely based on protein and flavor.

Not sugar with sugar and more sugar, oh wait this one has nuts and sugar!

Ok I'll admit I love homemade oatmeal rasin cookies. But those growing up was just a shiatload of brown sugar and butter.

King of Cookies: Toll House Chocolate Chip. Exactly as the package says.

For a change: Ginger Snaps, Archway Iced Molasses, home-made pfeffernusse, home-made shortbreads

Most Welcome Cookie Discovery of the Year: Newman Oreo-like cookies. Not an exaggeration: they are better, albeit pricier, than the original pre-move-to-Mexico Oreos.

Fig Newtons have changed since the days when my oldest sister and I would eat a package in one sitting.

Friend of the family (that does not share recipes) made a chocolate chip pumpkin cookie this year for Thanksgiving.... Very soft, fluffy cookie, quite similar to a muffin top.  They didn't last the evening.

/Haven't found the recipe online. yet.

in the past I always used one from the back of a can of Libby's brand pumpkin. that recipe did not have rolled oats + chocolate chips, but it looks like there's a "Libby's Great Pumpkin" version that does.

not sure if the date-pecan-coconut-cranberry cha-masala balls count as cookies, but they totally disappear.

1c pecan scrabblings (or, y'know, whatever/any nut is cheap/present)
1/2c unsweetened coconut
1/2c dates (sans-pierre often good)
1/2c dried cranberries (cherries blueberries who the hell cares)
1T oil (I mean coconut might help but I just use nice olive)
1/2t vanilla
1/4t salt (or double it, I did, makes it even more addictive)
1/2t tea-masala (pff, sometimes I make my own, but this was just pre-made retail Everest brand, is one of my favorite lazy ones)
- scrobble in food-processor until not-too-coarse
- form consistent vehicles in your forming-hand
- refrigerate and serve
- inhale

otherwise, a favorite is always birbsnest/thumbprint - everyone gets to pick their favorite preserves, and it's perfectly messy to enslave the chitlins' assistance.

I haven't made nor eaten (an entire) cookie in over 10 years. Just not much of a sweets guy.

HOWEVER! I now have a hankering for English toffee cookies.

I'm also craving rum cake for some odd reason.

So if some Farker wants to go ahead and make me both, that would be grand.
