I am sure that Fox will have some shade to throw on this.

"She's going to work for a non-profit because she can't get a real job!"

Pro tip:  just because it's "non-profit" doesn't mean people don't get paid very well indeed.

See United Way.

Christ, are we still calling them czars? Can't we find something that sounds a little more like it belongs in a democracy?

Would you prefer Comrade instead?

Or perhaps even Chairman?

I think I would like to a Czar some day. Perhaps of some city ending in "Angeles".

well, the media is anyway.  Her official title is far more boring.

To understand the media, realize the only people paying for this shiat are old white people who like to feel outraged.  We do live in an age of fake news, it's just far more insidious and subtle than the dimwits actually paying for the shiat realize.

Oh, this isn't even news. Her appointment was always meant to be temporary, and she returned to her original post with the nonprofit. Snore.

It doesn't even make the slightest bit of sense. A real-by-god czar was an autocrat; a vaccine diplomacy czar is middle management. I guess Vaccine Diplomacy Intermediary With Limited Actual Power just isn't as catchy.

Well, we don't vote for these people, and they seem to have almost limitless power over certain parts of the bureaucracy...Calling it democratic would be some straight up newspeak.

We could go with a bunch of variations. Could be Czar or Tsar. Or Kaiser. Or reach back to the root and call these appointments Caesar. I'm sure there's jokes to be made about, "she was appointed as a Caesar but she's as effective as a Caesar salad."

Who could have imagined that "Shut up and do what your government tells you to do" was a flawed diplomatic strategy?
