Attention President Biden:

Now would be an excellent time to refill the Strategic Oil Reserve. I'm sure the Republicans would be fully on board with buying fossil fuels to help prop up the prices.

Oil went up way too rapidly, but that was ok... Oil goes down "too fast" and you don't have the proper hedges in place?

OH MY GOD NOOOOOOOOOO THIS CAN'T BE!!!

Yeah, it's not going to roar back, guy. Realize your losses before they get larger.

Uh, this probably means that gas prices will collapse as well.

WTI crude oil prices have plunged 12% since Nov. 24

Yeah, I noted retail prices plunged almost 4% here. Big whoop.

And it looks like that's right.

Soon all those stickers next to pump prices of Biden saying "I did that!" will have the opposite of their intended meaning.

/They'll still be almost as wrong as they always were, though.

I think they're saying "the impact of Omicron on fuel costs would be the same as if there were no flights at all for a month."

Yeah, sorry.  I've long ago given up on any rationality in short term market prices on anything.  The price of X today makes no sense and complete sense at the same time.

This is why I don't gamble with commodities.  The market can turn on any bit of news or no news at all.

no

what i meant is that the future of business will be on blockchains.   and it takes coins to pay for using these blockchains.

which is why Ethereum's low price keeps climbing year after year..........300+% gain over the past year.  makes stocks look boring by comparison.

i highlight ethereum because its blockchain has more programmers working on developing apps for it than any other blockchain.  its the most active blockchain.

web2: facebook, google, etc

I remember years ago when oil prices plummeted and some oil exec was like, "Therefore we will raise gas prices. Of course we will, because we have to maintain our profits. That's just economics 101."

You have a point, OPEC is already talking about lessening output.

So not a collapse, but a lowering.

Oil is a cartel. They don't even pretend it's a free market.

My favorite part of 2020 was when gas prices dropped back to where they were in 2001 -- before 9/11, of course.

As mentioned a few days ago, we don't buy oil to fill up the reserves. The oil companies top them off as part of the drilling contracts. I'm sure they're eager do so when they have a surplus.
