FWIW, our local school district explicitly prohibited use of hand sanitizer or disinfectant wipes or sprays until many months into the pandemic, because "some kids might be sensitive to the ingredients".

Instead, teachers were encouraged to keep babywipes on hand to smear the COVID around a bit.

In the sense that COVID doesn't like ethanol; isopropyl alcohol, or benzalkonium chloride, or thrive in them, I suppose they do nothing for it.
