Man, I picked up my last new car with 110 miles on the odometer. This is more mint than that.

I predict it will be bought by someone who has money to throw away and it will sit for another ten years, then be sold for even more money to someone who will leave it parked for another ten years before they sell it.

Note they had to replace the fuel tank and fuel pump, it's probably a good idea to remove those and all the fuel lines for now, dump oil in the engine once a year, and crank it over a few times to make sure it keeps moving. Do that for the next sixty years and someone will have a perfect pickup truck no one can drive.

If the first owner bought it and stuffed it into a barn, then he bought it FOR the barn.

There's nothing, absolutely nothing better than a pickup truck to haul loads back and forth on large property. It would also explain the low mileage. Good find!

There are cars that leave the lot as new with more miles than that. At least there were back then.

I farking loathe people who buy cars and don't drive them, but it seems like that's not even a top 5 reason to loathe people these days.

Nope, I need an Xtracab. Also, at 94 miles, there's so much shiat that'll be wrong. It'd be a better vehicle if it were a well preserved, never off-roaded, never winter driven, always garaged model with 30k or 50k on odometer

Sorry, that offer isn't valid in the United States.  Instead you get a Ford pickup with bearded fat guys playing soldier.

Not to pee in anyone's Cheerios here, but a vehicle of that vintage with that low of miles is going to need a TON of work before it even starts. The rear main seal is dried out, the various ring gaskets inside the cylinder head and probably the head gasket are crumbling, the fuel system will need rebuild (at least one pump and sending unit, maybe even the lines and certainly the filter) because of decades old gasoline turned to varnish (if the owner didn't empty the tank and clean the lines before storage). Then there's the transmission, all the gaskets and rubbers there will probably need a change, and finally the diff (and if this is a 4wheel drive), the transfer case likely need flushing and re-greasing.

Chances are this is going to be a show-piece or modern art instead of a working and/or driving vehicle. Which is sad because those trucks can put up with more punishment and abuse compared to those modern luxury vehicles disguised as trucks.

If I was to get a reg cab Toyota it would be a T100 TRD.
That was a near-perfect pickup truck.

nvm the t100 trd did come in an extended cab
I'd never buy a regular cab pickup.

I worked at a couple dealerships for a while and was lucky enough to see a vehicle that had a 0 on the odo from factory. (technically it was 900m and change on the odo). I drove it around the dealership for the last few metres to roll it over to 1.

I blame the 1994 Dodge Ram as when the US fell in love with the massive full-size pickup.  Through the 1980s and front half of the 1990s, neighborhoods were filled with small trucks similar in scale to the one here with a few bigger ones, but that was the dude with the boat or big camper.  After the 1994 Dodge came out looking like a damn semi-truck cab, it was over.

I miss my Mazda B series trucks.

I like what Ford is doing with the new Ranger and Maverick. Small to midsize trucks that aren't going to break the bank, and still have all the capabilities that most truck buyers need. Those huge F150s, Rams, and Chevys are just too much. I'm not a truck guy, but I wouldn't say no to an electric Ranger like they have with the upcoming Lightning F150.

Even the new ranger starts at what, 39K? Ridiculous. And AFAIK no one has taken delivery of their hybrid maverick yet.

I did rent a 2009 diesel hilux in South Africa. You can tell those farkers are bulletproof.

Ummm, no. That's a link to a fairly well equipped with towing package, full cab and enough tech for 99% of drivers. Unless you're counting insane dealer markups, which then sure it can get upwards of 40k.

I'd like to have one of the older Tacoma models here; even those have grown too large to reasonably want. The black pickup from Back to the Future would be damn perfect for me.

I stand corrected. Maybe it was the Colorado. But I still member going to a build page, looking at the 4wd package starting prices and being all "yeah, fark that".

My local dealer doesn't even have any 2021 Mustangs in stock. The newest "new" one you can get is a 2020.

Down in these parts they'll push really hard to get you into one of the Eco-boosts. A four cyl Mustang is just downright unnatural to me.

I rented one once in Utah. 330HP. 0-60 in 5.1 seconds, so they have plenty of oomph. But they don't sound right.

Definitely on the sound.  Neighbor where I used to live had one, it was all wrong on the sound, but it could scoot, that's for certain.

As is a cab that seats 20 and a bed that fit's one 2x4 if you don't mind it hanging over the tailgate. Meh.

Isn't sitting unused harder on a vehicle than actually driving it every day? Just because it only has 93 miles on it doesn't mean it isn't full of old dryrotted parts.

My brother has a near-mint '85 SR5 in beige with a matching topper. I'm ridiculously envious, it's one of the coolest vehicles out there. I'd love to find something similar. I love the boxiness of 80s vehicles.
