Kripp is playing a card game because of his carpal tunnel, it didn't cause it.

On pornhub they call those "sperm canvases."  I'm told that, I don't actually know.

I might be aging out of FARK's typical demographic, because my first reaction to that picture is to wonder why the fark she's wearing giant black frames with no lenses in them.

Is this some sort of ironic hipster thing of which I was previously mercifully unaware?

kkinnison: How much did he get paid to do this?

This is the important question. 270k subs is $675k a month in revenue to Ludwig assuming standard partner rates (he may have a better deal). Twitch subs are $5 a month per user in cost, streamers get a little. Affiliates get a little more. Partners get half, until they are big enough to get a better deal. He is.

This doesn't count bits, direct donations, etc. Streamers get all of this as far as I can tell.

You can assume he makes over $1M per month, in all likelihood.

Ninja and others have proved a significant chunk of your userbase won't follow you to a new platform.

Subbing is free on YouTube as well. As are live streams. Having 2.1M subs on YouTube isn't likely that lucrative. And add he gets no revenue share of free subs, there's some $ for view ratio, but he's losing nearly $700k per month for this move. I don't know if we can even assume donations and superchat will equal out Twitch donations.

The terms of this deal interest me because YouTube is a VASTLY inferior platform to Twitch in terms of live stream. Twitch streamers get paid more directly. YouTube's premium service doesn't directly impact the channels or streams you watch. YouTube doesn't even promote live streams over their algorithm, sometimes even if you are subbed to the channel. YouTube must be paying him a farkton up front, and promising some kind of promotion, changes to the algorithm, and great deal on the ???? revenue they get from bigger channels and streams and associated ads.

I am going to get a bowl of those and sit them on the table by the door and next time I have new female friends over see what her reaction is.

Thanks for the tip!

I don't watch Ludwig. I know who he is. The article gave me sub counts and such, the math is easy.

And yes, I'm familiar with streaming.

Meh.  Never heard of him, and more often than not I've had a twitch stream on in the background for white noise whenever I'm home since the start of the pandemic.

With a few exceptions, small to mid level streamers are more entertaining/interactive anyway.  Once they hit 500-1,000 viewers consistently, might as well just watch a Let's Play vid.

Or just own up and check out pornhub.  At least they don't pretend there.
