Has it been appealed to SCOTUS yet?  Because I wouldn't be surprised...

Yeah, Buzzfeed News does some really good investigative journalism.  It's all paid for by the "OMG 13 Cats That Totally Look Like Lady Gaga!" clickbait, but their journalism holds its own with just about anyone else out there now.

Well, they're no Teen Vogue, but pretty good.

Vanity Fair has also been consistently publishing a number of political articles that do not at all pull punches, which they somehow manage to squeeze into the rest of their magazine. It's almost impressive.

You do realize the DOJ already has the unredacted report, right? I mean, it's their document. And you realize that it's full of evidence of criminal activity with no accountability from the DOJ?

This just means we get to see more of that. And because nothing has happened, well...

I am kind of nostalgic for the "Mueller will save us" era. Seemed like there was this inevitable steam roller of justice that was inescapable.

Oh well. Hopefully Bill Barr is busy somewhere else in 2027.

Their entire identity is wrapped up in both sides being bad, so this isn't pessimism. It's actually a deeply held wish, almost like a prayer at this point. After being so consistently wrong about so many things, something happening here would shatter whatever is left of their crumbling world view.

Bernie didn't win. Biden didn't lose to Trump. The BBB isn't dead. Dems successfully lowered poverty. Pete Buttigieg is a major player in Washington. It's incredible just how wrong one person's predictions can be. If real charges are levied against the previous administration, they've got nothing left.

It was a time when America thought they would see how a wannabe dictator would never succeed.  But it was not the principles of democracy that saved us, it was Trump's own laziness and the general incompetence of the people who worked for him.

Then bring it back. How 'bout this: Mueller knew the investigation could go anywhere with Trump's DOJ in place. But he understood that it would eventually get pried open by either the press, or a later Congress/court/whatevers...

I know... but you never know.

I see we're back to parroting the Boomer perception of Buzzfeed just being quizzes and listicles.

The news journalism arms of Buzzfeed and Teen Vogue have done better, more honest, and more valuable reporting in the past 5 years than most other outlets.

My oldest got me into watching Designated Survivor. Just watched the episode where there's a journalist from 'Teen Mode' I explained to her that that is probably a take on Teen Vogue and how they've been nailing it with political stories over the past few years.

Think that's one reason why kids are seeming to be more involved with things.

I was really into this show until Netflix took it over, and then they cancelled it, on an ending I found really dissatisfying. Ugh. Still makes me feel a little bitter.
