Sports fans are assholes. News at 11.

At least Joe Buck got some free pizza out of it.

This should surprise no one.  Every time sexual harassment or EEO presentation is given at an office, the off-color jokes in the office increase 200 percent.

The only saving grace is it's just 10% of the work force making the jokes.

It was assault, not violence.

Of course, if it had happened on the field, it would have been considered "good sportsmanship".

No joke, I was once on a train full of Italian soccer fans, and my ass got bruised from all the pinching. At a certain point I was just trying to protect my tits and nothing else. I still have nightmares about it occasionally. Yet it was years before I properly saw it as sexual assault.

Assault isn't violence??

Italian men are generally pigs.  And while that might come across as a broad stroke painting, I would encourage anyone doubting it to take their wife, daughter, or girlfriend to Sicily or Naples and let them walk around without you.

If they don't get cat-called at least twice, I will retract this statement and buy you a case of beer.

On the field the person recieving the slap on the ass would have fallen down and been carried halfway off the field on a stretcher before recovery

Battery is violence.  Assault is essentially the threat of violence.

https://www.law.cornell.edu/wex/assault_and_battery
In an act of physical violence by one person against another, "assault" is usually paired with battery. In an act of physical violence, assault refers to the act which causes the victim to apprehend imminent physical harm, while battery refers to the actual act causing the physical harm.

Best sport in the world. Worst fans on the planet.

These things are known.

Have you seen my wife and kids?  Ugly as sin.  I'll take a case of Sierra Nevada Celebration.
