The only one I've heard in its entirety is BTS's Butter, and that only because my wife loves all things Korean.

I'm old (40) and I've come to accept that the entertainment world doesn't revolve around me or my peers any longer, and that's okay.

I don't know a lot of those bands/songs, but I'm a big fan of #2, #3 & #16.

I love that Japanese Breakfast album, but as far as the singles go, I would have chosen Posing in Bondage.

Damn. I already feel old, three kids and a jerb, etc. I still feel like I'm in my early 20's, but shiat like this reminds me that I'm so far away from my college days. Oh well, at least the music was better back in MY day (and before), and I will spend the rest of my life making sure my kids and grandkids know what "good" music sounds like.

/my 16 year old daughter was at first irritated but then blown away by what I subjected her ears to on a 4 hour road trip, and that was just 90's music

I'm familiar with ABBA (all caps, it's their initials) not that new song of theirs however.

That entire Silk Sonic album is aural fire. It's fantastic from start to finish. Anderson Pak and Bruno Mars are the Isaac Hayes and Quincy Jones of the current era.

100%.

When I saw this Fark headline, I assumed "Leave the Door Open" would be #1, but it came in at #19. Hoping both that song and the album clean up at the Grammys.

The list is slightly skewed to UK acts in a few cases (Anz, Wolf Alice, Little Simz, Wet Leg, Self Esteem), so some of the "I just realized I'm old because I don't know these " declarations should take that into account.

Although knowing the music vs just having heard the names are different levels.  The person claiming to only know the BTS song got my amazement for not knowing "Leave The Door Open".  Now take it up a level.  If someone said they never even heard of Billie Eilish, Olivia Rodrigo, The Weeknd, or geez... even ABBA I wouldn't know what to make of that.  That's not what that person meant, but I'm just imagining someone showing up and saying something like that.

You don't know the songs or the artists?

Think carefully now.

But yes, UK list excuses you on like five of these.  Another five or six are super-Indie and a normal person ain't gonna know them either.  The rest?  It really depends on your answer to the above question how unusual it would be.

This is the rare case of it's not that you're getting old, the music is really bad. I listen to about 500 albums/year. 2021 is looking like the worst year in music since LPs were invented. Lots of average stuff, very little great. I'm wondering if everybody is saving their best until they can tour behind it.

And..... I was expecting a list of top songs from Guardians of The Galaxy sound tracks....

The confusion was immediate.

I'm an adult in an English speaking country. I listen to music every day of my life. I seriously ask, with no snark whatsoever, Where, why and how would I ever run into this song? I have never heard it, heard of it or the group that sings it. Why do you see it as so ubiquitous to adults?

Nice to see Wolf Alice getting some recognition. Saw them when they came through Portland last month, and they put on an amazing show. First live show I've seen in almost two years, and holy fark was it worth it. Would have picked a different song for the list though:

Chaise Longe is a good song but it isn't even the best Wet Leg song and they have only put out like 3 songs.

Love this band.  Bonded with then-teen daughter over them.  Favorite memory was taking her out of middle school on her birthday to see them do a small acoustic set at a local record store.  Met Ellie (lead singer) and she was very gracious and patient with a fan acting like a dorky teenage girl.  Plus my daughter met her.

That wet leg song is beyond a banger and their second single wet dream is even better.

It is actually genius stuff.

There's a lyric in wet dream that goes something like "what makes you think that you're good enough to think about me while youre touching yourself, touching yourself, touching yourself..." That is as good as any rock lyric I've heard

Happy for them as they seem super cool and sweet. I'm hoping my daughter gets into them.
