I haven't met our named plow yet but the SO was talking to our plow driver the other day.  Apparently they all hate the new names because they're memorable and it's easy for people to call and complain about a specific truck now instead of having to write down the number.

GOOD. I mean, I'm sorry, I'm sure they get undeserved criticism as well as valid criticism, but plow drivers here in Michigan drive with such reckless abandon, I'm pretty sure they believe they have diplomatic immunity. A little accountability would go a long way.

Oh for sure.  We just moved here but every person we talk to talks shiat about the plow drivers.  There's deep local animosity on the subject.

Maybe Vermont kids should focus more on why their state has the highest vaccination rate but has the 4th highest case rate.

It's not the Michigan Governor's fault that she governs Location B of white supremacy in America, which happens to correlate with anti-vax attitudes.

Is there a Yoko Snowno?  Because there should be a Yoko Snowno.

I agree with my fellow Michiganders above. I'm naming my local truck Tsnownami !
He goes so fast down our street, the snow gets blasted up and over the city grass, covering the sidewalk I just cleared.

Since you're definitely asking this question in good faith, I'll help.

Vermont is a very rural state. As such, initial Covid spread was slow in 2020, and authorities were able to implement shutdowns and mask mandates in time for them to be fully effective. That led to the lowest Covid rates in the country. Later, several safe and effective vaccines became available, and Vermonters took them up at the highest rates in the country. That allowed authorities to reopen. Since the vaccines aren't fully effective against breakthrough cases (particularly with Delta, and looking like even more so with Omicron), that meant Vermont with it's lower incidence of prior cases would proportionally see more than the rest of the country as it reopened and winter came. But since the vaccines are highly effective at preventing hospitalization and death, even with Delta (and hopefully Omicron), Vermont's Covid death rate is 50th out of 50 states at just 65 per 100k, compared to a 242 per 100k national average.

Isn't that great? I know this all comes a relief to you, since

Whoops, hit submit too soon. I know this all comes as a relief to you, since you're definitely asking this question in good faith and care genuinely about the well-being of Vermonters. Otherwise you'd be a political hack spreading anti-vaccine propaganda in a thread about children naming snow plows, which would just be silly.
