Isn't that where great pitchers go to get hurt and become ok-ish pitchers?

I thought I'd read just this morning he wanted to go play relaxed in good weather on the West Coast.  Whatevs.

I barely follow baseball, but this video sold me on how he'd be my favorite player if I did.

I'm glad the tigers didn't do a tigers thing and take him back. Love Max, but he's (obviously affording to what the Mets gave him) too damn expensive, and leaning to the end of a great career. The tigers are already gonna do tiger things with Correa, and if they got scherzer too? That's the end of getting anybody to compliment the young guys they already have.

Best of luck Max, you're a national treasure as far as I'm concerned for what you did in Detroit

For, oh, about 2/3s of the season - something about Mets pitchers and sore arms.

Would love to have seen him return to the Dodgers but that's a ton of money for a 38 year old who maybe started showing some signs of decline over the last 6 weeks of the season.

Now the Dodgers can use that money to also not sign Seager 🥴

"So Max is going to a team with no run support?  What's that like?", asked Nationals fans.

I wonder how many times managers go out to pull him, but really do it to piss him off to throw more strikes.

Don't forget that their #1 pick just won the World Series.

Max is a little intense.  That's a quality that HOF pitchers often have.  It was a real treat watching him at Mizzou back in his college days.  We're proud of him in any uniform.

I'm hoping that the Mets learn from past mistakes and save their aces until the latter part of the season.

there are definitely times when davey would go out knowing it would fire him up and you know max would kill him if he was actually pulled.  but max is always good in situations like that where he knows he's got that inning and that's it so he empties the tank and adds a few mph to close out a threat

at least until deGrom blinks too hard and his glass arm shatters.

TBF his arm didn't actually get injured this last year. It was tight and it was the end of July and they were on a downswing - so they sat him. MRI's at the end of the season showed a healthy elbow.
