Rittenhouse: He's insane.
Banfield: What made you think he was insane?

Ummm... Gee, I don't know what it could be... Ashleigh, have you ever met him?  Have you ever heard him speak?

I already suspected the other week that Rittenhouse would get tired of people trying to use him.  Seems it's starting even earlier that I thought.

How soon until asking Google for information on the whereabouts of Lin Wood simply returns a picture of a guy hiding under a tarp on an Oregon highway?

Alphax: I already suspected the other week that Rittenhouse would get tired of people trying to use him.  Seems it's starting even earlier that I thought.

I think he's gotten more competent counsel since his time with Lin Wood that have shown him that they set him up to take a fall for them.  Rittenhouse still faces a lot of lawsuits, and the notion that he will be able to sue anyone for defamation for anything they've said about him is a Fox News fantasy.  It'll be interesting to see what his next moves are, but I'm pretty sure he's screwed.

2021-11-29 10:23:30 AM
It was fairly obvious at the beginning of this that Lin cleverly used the "defense fund" as a personal slush fund.  Grifters gonna grift.

Greatawakening.win is remarkably quiet on the topic, although some weird accusations of plane sabotage are being thrown around.

I saw those accusations and decided to go to bed instead, knowing that no good would come from wasting my time on that delusion.

Oh don't mind me, I'm just here for the meltdown as Rittenhouse turns on the Q-bags.

So Kyle had a moment of clarity.  I'm impressed.  I still expect a number of dumb, life-screwing decisions from him though.

Ol' Kyle has a potential federal murder rap and civil rights case to worry about. He shouldn't be talking to anyone, anywhere, about anything, ever.

Rittenhouse is a dumb kid with a dumb mother; but he was never the heroic idol/martyr Q and the Trumphumpers were setting him up to be; his lawyer knew it well enough. Left alone, he might get past this and become just another average douchebag.

I'm impressed that he's got the spine to say so early and openly that he wants nothing to do with the ones who were prepared to worship him. Now stay away from those idiot "friends" who got you into this mess in the first place you little puke.

I wonder if he'll be martyred by the proud three-percent gravy seals, which will then be blamed on a joint Antifa-BLM operation.

This poor kid's destiny was to become a mall cop, get really fat, and have a fatal heart attack stepping off an escalator. Instead, he has to think and become this political figure.

Must be agonizing.

That was my  first thought as well, but there's a chance that everyone in the world hates him and he will never be safe, might even meet a violent end.   So there is some hope.

Yep.

It's as if Ol' Kyle thinks that only what was introduced in the state trial can be introduced in the federal trial.

Not that I don't think it's right he's been left off the hook, but this guy seems a bit more complex and measured politically than initially though. Looks like he won't let the déplorables turn him into a torch bearer.

So, if Lin Wood sues over this comment, would he represent himself?  And then demonstrate to the jury that he is, indeed, insane?

Please, proceed!

2021-11-29 10:39:13 AM
He and Lin and some other lawyers are fighting over the 2 million bail money.

Even as Rittenhouse figures out his next moves, fundraising continues on his behalf, ostensibly to retire legal bills from his trial but perhaps in recognition that he may face civil lawsuits over the shootings. Rittenhouse has hinted he may bring defamation claims of his own, and could seek possession of $2 million in bail money raised by his supporters.

"He could easily secure a seven-figure book contract," said Andrew M. Stroth, a former talent agent and an attorney in Chicago with no ties to Rittenhouse. Rittenhouse, he said, "could monetize his brand and potentially make in the millions."

Real talk....he'd probably be safer in prison. Failing that...name change, minor cosmetic surgery and move somewhere nobody knows him. Because it's just not done to criticize the friends of the cult leader. They've already shown that they are ready and able to do violence to appease their orange god.

I'm actually surprised he's willing to be frank about those morons. He needs friends, and right now insane morons are the only people who want to be friends with him. Sometimes you pick your team, and other times your team is picked for you.

Alphax: I already suspected the other week that Rittenhouse would get tired of people trying to use him.  Seems it's starting even earlier that I thought.

There was a relatively sympathetic article about Rittenhouse in the New Yorker over the summer -- about as sympathetic as one can be with this guy -- suggesting he had grown tired of Wood and the gang very quickly. He made it pretty clear in interviews that he never asked for his legal defense to be politicized, and he says he didn't know who the Proud Boys were when they showed up to his party for photo ops. He was just a 17-year-old kid who had gone on some kind of "lil' crimestoppers" ride-around program with the local police and decided, like Eric Cartman, that it made him "basically a cop." So he showed up in a wildly inappropriate place with a wildly inappropriate weapon, yelling "respect my authoritah!," with predictably horrendous results.

Wood does know that Kyle is armed, right?  "Potshots" takes on a whole new meaning when one of the two people arguing has an AR-15 and feels threatened easily

Evidence used at the State level certainly can be used at a Federal level, even if the State didn't adequately prove its case. That's what happened during the 1960's when the Feds went after the local Klan Sheriffs around the country.

I wouldn't be shocked for the Proud Boys to take him out and blame BLM.  Two birds, one bullet.

I'm not sure if "measured" is the term I would use, but, as 17-year-old kids tend to do, he was testing out political identities for himself. He also claimed to be a fan of Andrew Yang.

Saying "you're a fraud!" is kinda on the same level as "you're a loser!" or "you're insane!" But saying they committed criminal fraud is definitely grounds for libel/slander lawsuits. The two biggest words to avoid in discussing someone on a public respected forum is "liar" and "fraud".

Check out Penn & Teller when they were interviewed about their show "Bulls**t". Their lawyers sent back a copy of the script where they called chiropractors "frauds", and legal said "don't call them that." so they settled on "baby twisting motherfarkers".

Let them fight.  In all honesty, it's incredibly suspicious that Rittenhouse is even being asked about QAnon.  One would think that he's just a citizen who bore arms and killed others to protect his own life.  Hmm.

Welcome to Salem, 2021. Expect to hear "She's a witch!". I'm calling it in this thread, maybe not MTG, but somebody is going to be a called a witch real soon.

As far as Kyle, the kid was totally a pawn in the Q-gang's plan. It's heartening to see that he knows it and is speaking out, instead of doubling down like so many people do.

The last time I posted "Never meet your heroes" I was answered by some guy with a very nice story about meeting a famous guitarist who was a hero of his and they jammed and were friends and it was great.
So, notwithstanding any of the extremely rare exceptions to this axiom:
Never Meet Your Heroes.

How do you balance being a Republican and knowing that you're voting for the same people these a-holes are? Like, is there anybody in the crowd that cares to comment? Is it an any port in a storm situation or what? If being a Democrat meant that I had to vote alongside a bunch of totally insane cultists I don't think I'd do it.

Nah, he's in the middle of a three way fight over his bail money of 2 million dollars.

His bail went back to his first attorney Pierce. Lin Wood thinks he's entitled to it. Kyle's most recent attorney thinks he should get paid.

People are going to continue to use him and let this kid put his foot as far in his mouth as it can fit, Kyle's just mad over believing Wood left him in jail intentionally and about the money.

Banfield: What made you think he was insane?

Rittenhouse: Just how he, like how he thinks he's God, and he just says all these weird things like: "We're going to keep that boy in jail, because there's not going to be any... civil or criminal cases come the election," which is just complete insanity.

Rittenhouse may be a piece of shiat murderer who dodged getting what he deserved, but he ain't wrong here.
