Pretty sure they said "Let's Go Norman".

Get a brain, Mormans.

No, they've been awful people a lot longer than that.

Oh no!  Was something mean and profane said from the student section of a sporting event?

Welcome to every college football game ever.

I'll bet the next article will be about student athletes who are swearing during games.

The University of Spoiled Children lives up to its name.

To be fair, fark the Mormons seems like a philosophy I can get behind. An intensely oppressive organization whose primary advantage is not being Scientology.

Pretty much.

I'm not proud of some of the vulgar chants I participated in when I was in college but monkey see monkey do and "tradition" and all that jazz...

When I was going to Penn State, it was de rigueur for the student section to throw Ziploc bags filled with urine at Ohio State fans.

I mean, the primary issue was the child molestation, but also the pissbags.

If you're concerned with the propriety and family values of the fans, let me suggest Air Force Academy games.

/Focus on the Family is 5 miles east of AFA stadium
//USC alum
///said some awful things at games that I grew out of the day I graduated

If this is causing this kind of reaction for USC... Jesus F*ck I fear the day Florida announces their new coach and whatever school they steal him from.

I've never seen a Penn State fan talk about that but yeah, in 2005 Ohio State's marching band was pelted with bottles and bags of urine. The band didn't go back for the next three games at Happy Valley and I don't recall what their status has been after their first initial return trip, whether they've stayed at home or not.

Ohio State fans, obviously, have always been overflowing with courtesy to opposing fans who come here.

I know of at least 2 Pac 12 schools that won't send their band on trips to USC because of how their band treats visiting bands.  I'm told USC's is the only band that is a problem in the conference.

If I were USC, I'd be offended too.  Your students are supposed to be getting a world class education, and "fark the mormons" is the best y'all can come up with?

At least the kids at Duke are creative.  When Steve Hale suffered a collapsed lung in a prior basketball game, every time he had the ball Duke's student section chanted "IN-HALE, EX-HALE!"  You gotta do your oppo research.  Make fun of the player who was apparently an asshole on Tinder.  Or just offer to buy them a beer.

The USC band has no interaction with opppsing bands at all.  At least they didn't up to 2010ish.  They show up separately, sit separately, and leave separately.  If they expect a hug and to be fêted they can visit their parents.

If you wanna see outrageous things that have gotten people banned, check on the Stanford band.  They got banned from BYU for putting out a groom and a squad of brides on BYU's field for haltime.  Also got banned from Notre Dame for a similar stunt but with a Bishop and choir boys.

Incident was after 2010.  Source:  My nephew and current Pac 12 band member who was present.

As of three weeks ago the bands did not interact.  Seems like it has changed back.

Agreed.

And my grandfather went there, in addition to my great-grandfather teaching philosophy there.

There are outliers, but not many.

/even Grandpa got disgusted with USC football from the Pete Carrol era forward.

I think they did a coat hanger as a band formation once.

OK, so talked to my nephew about the band incident with USC.  He's with U of A.  The U of A president paid for their band to travel to USC a couple of years ago and they did a little show on the field before USC's band came on.  USC's band was on the sideline waiting for their turn.  A couple of maneuvers brought the U of A band over to the sideline where USC band members were.  The USC band pushed, grabbed uniforms of and used racial slurs toward the Arizona band members.  The U of A president was witness to this and has forbidden USC's band from visiting Arizona while he's in the position.

And there was the playing during a moment of silence thing with Cal in 2019
