Sorry, but documentation from 48 Governmental Agencies from 10 different countries over the past 50 years, as well as hundreds of peer-reviewed articles from scholar journals, have unequivocally proven that Yoko Ono was the primary instigator to the breakup of the Beatles.

Seemed like they actually kind of liked her for the most part. Paul talks in part 2 about how he doesn't think she needs to be there all the time but doesn't blame John for keeping her close by either.

And she was the best piano player in The Beatles too!

The knee-jerk hate Yoko drags out of people is petty, small, sad, and just plain silly.

So she does weird art and sings weird.

Who gives a shiat?

This documentary has proven what was already pretty clear: For a lot of people, she is the living embodiment of this meme:

Fark user imageView Full Size

She does literally nothing but sit there, at John's insistence, and half the Internet still fumes like she boiling children alive or something.

Yeah, I'm not fond of her art, either. You know what I do about that?

Nothing. I just move on with my life - and I certainly don't expend any energy hating her for such a stupid farking reason. She's a punching bag for no reason other than people like to have a punching bag.

That's small and sad.

Haven't seen the documentary but I will say this: When you're in a band and one of the guys keeps bringing his girlfriend to rehearsals you should replace him ASAP. I've spent too many rehearsals watching some dude spend more time snogging than playing. Ugh.

Paul also says that if John wants to do his own thing and be with Yoko, he wishes him the best. Yoko may have played a part in the breakup but everyone was kinda done being "The Beatles".

The Beatles broke up The Beatles, John being the first to formally leave for good, (and not because of Yoko, no matter how hard it is to tolerate her horrendous caterwauling.)

John wasn't the only one. George apparently brought a couple of yogis with him who sat there praying or burning incense or staring into space or who knows what.

At least I understand a dude bringing his girl along.  George's thing was way weirder, and I've never heard anyone say boo about it.

This.  After the Beatles broke up George put out a triple album of songs. He wasn't going to sit around getting just 1 or 2 songs on Beatles records forever

Did any other Beatle have a SO 'just sit there' .... and yeah she did jump in from time to time to make 'helpful suggestions.
She was a presence, a overseer. That had Johns ear on and off stage.

She was there....all the farken time. With her performance art making stuff inserting herself into the limelight.
"I'm not touching you" type of thing.

The "Just sitting there" is the kind of passive aggressive action she was good at.

Well, yeah.. The mysticism and artitist influface of 'yogis' and Sitars and was musical influence.

Yoko did bring "Revolution number 9" at one of the worst Beatles songs...ahh art pieces.

But frankly, as a musical force. You'd be hard pressed to find the diffrence of her singing and recordings of sheep being castrated.

A member of a rock band bringing his girlfriend to rehearsal/recording has been a thing ever since the invention of rock bands. And yet Yoko Ono gets singled out for this highest of crimes!

Also, per the article, good for the surviving Beatles, and the wives of the dead ones, telling Disney to stuff it at the suggestion of censoring the swear words.

IOW, don't waste time hating Yoko Ono, hate f*cking Disney!

I will never understand why Lennon, who could have had just about anyone, chose her.

Like he killed someone and she had the proof squirreled away and it would be released if anything happened to her.

And Timothy Leary. Smoke a joint with him too.

Tho my SO is a early riser...and had breakfast with Timothy Leary at the Hilton. at a VERY...early 'dragon con' in early 90's.

So, early they didn't block off the rooms at "Concerage" level at the hotel for superspecial guests.
And we had a nice room for 'AAA discount rate' at the Hilton in ATL.

Timothy Leary was a champ tho...a very fun and personable person.
Larry Niven was a asshole. Robert Anton Wilson was mostly drunk, fun guy, and just wanted the buffet access. (I liked him most of all)

But I can't come home right now
Me and the boys are playing
And we just can't find the sound
Just a few more hours
And I'll be right home to you
I think I hear them calling
Oh Ono , what can I do?
Ono , what can I do?
You say you feel so empty
That our house just ain't a home
That I'm always somewhere else
And you're always there alone
Just a few more hours
And I'll be right home to you
I think I hear them calling
Oh Ono , what can I do?
Ono , what can I do?
Ono , I know you're lonely
And I hope you'll be alright
'Cause me and the boys will be playing all night

No one in Wings wanted Paul's wife to be in the band. John wanted to collab with wife, while Paul wanted his wife to be a part of what he was doing. You can debate all you want bout that. At the end of the day, none of the women that were involved in the Beatles caused the breakup, it was the members of the band that did it.

Yoko Ono was a Fluxist. Which was basically a form of neo dadaism, but anti establishment. They wanted to burn down libraries, and buildings and start fresh more or less. She was also a famous performance artist. Her most famous piece, was Cut Piece. Where she had the audience cut a part of her clothing off her. Towards the end of the piece, some asshole decides to cut her undergarments off her. She still had pieces of her dress on her that he could have cut off, but didn't. It was about boundaries, and how much far would someone go, and get away with it. Turns out pretty far. Ono has influenced a lot of performing artists. She is a legit artist in her own right, regardless if you don't like her stuff or not. She is still very much a fluxist to this day.

If Lennon was just going to keep writing lousy songs about Yoko, it's just as well they broke up. His solo career was all the proof needed to show he lost his Beatles magic. Would have been interesting if the remaining 3 would have carried on with George taking John's place as a song contributor. Would have been solid through the '70's. Yeah, Plastic Ono Band...blah, blah. Most of John's solo stuff was weak.

About as compelling as this
[Youtube-video https://www.youtube.com/embed/3dXffxrfFhY]

You have to take Ono's work with what was going on at the time. It was 1965, and the women's liberation movement was getting more push. Women for the most part were considered objects, and should be own and controlled by men. In her performance piece, we can see people take a literally piece of her, and while doing so makes her more vulnerable. She is losing clothing, and being exposed more. Then a white guy comes, and starts taking more than all the other audience members. He starts exposing her more and more. She shows the audience that she has no control, and the audience comes to her defense when she is at her most vulnerable.

I get it, it is cool to her, because it was the cool hip thing to hate her since she met Lennon. If you want to be critical of her work fine, but at least explain why instead of mocking it. Your lame attempt as a dis is just sad.
