I just wish she had better material to work with. This is the second show I loved that Chris Chibnall  as showrunner has promptly destroyed. Being Human was great until he got ahold of it and I just stopped watching the shell it became under his name.

I can't wait for the finale at this point, flux away with this entire whoniverse and let RTD reboot with a fresh universe regeneration and Chris Chibnall will surely fail upward and destroy another media property by shaking things up without understanding what makes them work first.

I just don't like "Doctor Who". I've tried. Multiple times. It seems like something I should enjoy.

But it is *relentlessly* juvenile and stupid and cheesy and boring. Which is upsetting, because the *characters themselves* are pretty interesting. Which is why I've tried to like it so many times.

/I'm really judgmental about all sci-fi, because nothing compares to Iain M. Banks' "Culture" series. It ruined me for almost everything else. I've read TONS of sci-fi novels, I've read all the classics, I've read all the post-modern stuff worth reading, I've read it all. But "The Culture" novels are just the best. Followed by Lois McMaster Bujold's "Vor Saga" books (though, the Vor novels really sputtered out at the end). I've almost given up on sci-fi novels at this point, and find myself reading more-and-more non-fiction.

Tonight's episode was the first meh one of the season for me. The Doctor's storyline went all expository tell-don't-show so I checked out. The UNIT stuff was interesting as a concept, but increasingly not interesting to watch. Bel and Vinder were given next to nothing. As for Yaz, Dan, and Jericho(!), that was pretty cute, and I am also cracking myself up at the thought that they seemed to have dropped off Peggy at an orphanage.

realmolo: it is *relentlessly* juvenile

Oh no.  A show created for children is juvenile.  What is this world coming to?
