Yesterday, it was pointed out the IOC is way more corrupt than FIFA. Yet FIFA is willing to look the other way on horrific human rights abuses.

Seems like a tie to me.

I pretty much only watch maybe 4 games or so out of every WC as it is, so thankfully a full boycott will be easy for me, esp. if Wales doesn't make it.

They're killing one of their golden geese with their pissing match with EA.

Don't worry, they're paying David Beckham a bucket load of money to help coverup and distract from all the corpses. A decent footballer but a rancid coonting cesspit of a person.

And Qatar is ranked at the bottom of the worst 10 Arab states with modern slavery according to the Global Slavery Index but the data is from 2018 so things are probably a lot worse now due to World Cup related construction.

IOC hasn't been stupid enough to let a corrupt Middle Eastern country host the Olympics so they have an advantage there.

FIFA isn't stupid, they'll just do anything at all for money. PR can be spun, judges can be bought, bodies can be buried.

I wouldn't go to see this world cup (Ireland aren't qualified so it wasn't really a dilemma). But I won't be boycotting it either.

I should.

But I just can't imagine not watching the world cup

To be fair, if EA is going to go full blown casino on loot boxes, etc, they need to pay Kansas City FIFA their tithe. Didn't we learn anything from Joe Pesci?

EA already told FIFA where they can shove their bribe money from everybody else.

The key wording is 'hasn't been'

I still see the 'XXXVI Games of the winter Olympiad - Doha 2030 presented by Qatar Airways and McDonald's' in our future

The US doesn't import any natural gas from Qatar, and hardly any oil.

The Al Udeid air base however is home to a very large contingent of US forces.

I like the part where everyone in any position of power just decided to pretend the bribery never happened and continues to let them host.

China disappeared a woman's tennis star and the IOC is helping with the cover-up.
