Man is she photoshopped to hell.

She did some Instagram story or something like that, and without the caked-on makeup and photoshop...yikes.

Doesn't make her any less talented of a singer, but she looks like a totally different person.

Adele has reportedly been approached by Netflix for a special on her comeback.

Comeback? I was unaware that she had faded into obscurity.

Whenever Adele releases a new album, my wife gets drunk and obnoxiously sings along to it for hours on end, usually when I'm trying to sleep.

I farking HATE Adele.

Yeah, this.

I have no interest in her music but I doubt I've gone a single day without being exposed to it at some point, simply because her brand of musical filler is used by three or four major radio stations.  If there was a dip in her popularity it was not apparent.

I'm also not sure what they're on about with her music being "honest".  It's... just kinda generic pop music of the same ballad-ish variety we've been getting since the 1960s, it not being particularly deep or insightful is more a feature than a bug.  And there's nothing wrong with being designed more for accessibility than depth of insight when you're making pop music, that shiat's right there in the name.

You're not really supposed to get overly specific and honest with things because the point is applicability, not sharing, y'know?  If you're like "Bob Smith of 321 West Streetington Lane broke up with me, and I am angry with him because he kept the pair of striped socks I bought him when I wanted them back" no one is gonna give a shiat, but if you're like "a generically passionate relationship with someone completely undescribed went to shiat for vague-to-completely-unhinted-at reasons, and now I feel deep but extremely nonspecific negative emotions about that" like literally every Adele song in existence does, you're damned right everyone old enough to buy albums is gonna have had a day like that and be down for a song about it occasionally.

Basically, for what she's doing with her career her songs being honest would be farking poison and make them suck, instead of being pretty good and sticking in your ear sometimes.

Ah, Fark talk.  Cutting down the successful woman before her britches get too big, right?  Or is this just the "hating it because other people like it" stuff?

You're not going to listen to the actual album, but the music definitely isn't generic pop. Its kind of a mix of Indie and r&b.  The song everybody's heard is a but different from the rest of the album, although I still wouldn't peg it as all that modern popish.

It certainly can't take my top spot with Silk Sonic around, but its genuinely good.  Then again, I'm supposing Silk Sonic will get cut down here too for being too popular as well (again, with stupid characterizations of it like its "dumb pop" when it actually sounds nothing like most current pop).  Haters gotta hate, right?

Someone pointed it out to me, but it's hilarious the difference between Adele's singing voice and speaking voice. Her singing voice is this thing of beauty, her speaking voice is basically "What if Julie Andrews spoke like Dick Van Dyke"

Hey Bieber had A good song.

Because Ed Sheeran wrote it.

Oh wait. Sheeran is popular too.  I guess he sucks too.

A lot of pop music is dreck.  But anyone who prejudges it ALL because its popular is dimwitted. Adele does musically complex stuff in her songs.  So do Bruno Mars and Ed Sheeran.  All three of them sing live usually, without autotune.  But some morons put them in the same bag as Justin Bieber, who probably has never genuinely sung fully live unaltered a day in his life, and who's music is typically as complex as a 2x2 Rubix's Cube.

Should be illegal to do. on top of setting unrealistic expectations, I would think it would be harmful to the artist's own self-esteem.

I really don't know anything about her. I'm sure she's attractive on her own. I also know they always do a little airbrush tool work on magazine covers but that's just overkill.

I am sure some people find her attractive, but I saw part of a video of her talking from home and I am guessing without the caked-on makeup and all that, and it was like a totally different person. Granted, a typical 30 some year-old mom, but nowhere near looking like the same person in her photos and music videos.
