Dude's answering questions that Farkers ask in every 11'8"+8" video.

Very informative.

That was cool.  Sounds like they gave plenty of dumbass compensation in the sensors and warning signs but still not enough for the extra determined dumbasses.

If this were in Portland, Or. PBOT would put a speed bump under it.

Scale it so it almost fits Playmobil trucks.

I drove my van into a parking garage going under the 9'6" sign.  Nope, not even 8'2".  Scrapped the roof up badly and took out the third brake light.

In hind sight, maybe they just meant the sign was 9'6".

Nope, clearance signs at the entrance of the parking deck are to show the lowest clearance at any accessible point in the garage unless a lower clearance sign is posted further inside the deck.

I'd have sued the deck owner for damages.

And there'd be a homeless encampment with tents on either side under it.

Maybe a physical barricade needs to come down like a crossing arm?

too much legit traffic coming from all directions to justify closing the road every time an overheight vehicle might try to go under the bridge. Nope, they're relying on human judgement & common sense.

It's already there. A steel girder has been placed at the maximum height, before the bridge. Most of the collisions now are of trucks hitting that girder.

The red light on the stoplight is activated when an overheight truck is detected, to give the driver time to read the flashing warning message. However, many trucks accelerate when the yellow light comes on... so a barricade arm is just another reason to accelerate. Also, a barricade would bother the cars in the adjoining lane.

The lit up sign is a wee bit ambiguous really.  It should be obvious but isn't.  It should say "Your vehicle is over height.  You must turn".  As it is now, it reads more like a general warning to nobody in particular.
