Occasionally Britain spits out a rollicking angry workingclass-oriented mouthpiece and that whole shiatshow of islands is sort of worth it.

I'm surprised Brand New Start isn't there. There is a lot of his music I'm not aware of, but that's a great song.

This. The Jam was a huge influence on my and my playing. The Gift was the first album I bought when it came out.
I thought Elvis Costello was the greatest until I heard them.

Ah, well done on the headline subby. List is pretty good, possibly not how I would order them but it has all the high points I am aware of.

I always liked my Style Council album and never understood the backsass. Maybe people were salty about the breakup of The Jam.

I need to listen to more Weller/Council.

My fave Jam tune is "Man in the Corner Shop" - to me, sad in a way.

They know!
That God created all men equal

La, la la, la, la

Half of rock is stolen from somebody else and then speeded up or slowed down.  That's just the way it is.  Some are a little more apparent is all.

Peter Weller is the guy from Aliens and Twister, Paul was in Spaceballs and Independence Day, not that hard to keep straight sheesh.
