TheReject: and to think I've been sexually abusing myself all these years for free

Me, I've paid myself 5 bucks each times I prostituted myself to myself.

After five years, I bought my first house in cash.

Probably good value for money, it's over a few years and the total cost is less than a dollar per head of the population per year.

Since 1980, the Guidelines have permitted agencies to authorize informants to engage in activities that would otherwise constitute crimes under federal, state, or local law if someone without such authorization engaged in these same activities.

Thanks, Carter

FTFA: "one confidential informant in Atlanta who received $212,000 from the DEA from 2011 to 2013. She testified she wasn't sure why she was paid."

Weird... that a lot of money to not know why you're getting it....

Also FTFA: "She also testified to a sexual relationship with the DEA group supervisor"

I think I've solved the mystery...

The FBI has been doing stupid for a long time.  I can remember back in the post-9/11 witchhunts for terrorists, they were bringing case after case to trial, just to lose when it would be revealed that without the prodding of the government plant, no conspiracy or act happened.  For a while, there was a talk show on AM radio that kept a tally, it was something like for every shoe bomber caught and convicted, there were like 2-3 others that turned out to be a bunch of brown people arrested because the government wanted to look successful. with no convictions for anything terrorism related.

I don't normally go in for conspiracy theories. But you know how fentanyl keeps showing up in drugs that it has nothing to do with, and we keep asking why a dealer would spend money to kill their own customers? In 20 years, I expect to see some documentaries.

This time I'm gonna have to be less than shocked.  No police agency can operate without informants - people selling other people out is your primary source for actually solving anything.  It'd be nice if people would come forward on their own, but that doesn't farking happen most of the time unless someone that already has a grudge against the person who did it was a witness.  Since they're looking for criminal activity, their informants are going to be criminals most often than not.  They're going to want money 'cause why the fark else should they do shiat for you pal?  And if you arrest and convict them for stuff they do as your informants, you'll shortly have no informants at all for vastly obvious reasons.  As much as the current state of cop-dom is psycho shiat, this one's true even in a sanely run law enforcement organization.  Whether it's Phuket, Nairobi, Glasgow, Los Angeles - informants are a crappy but necessary part of actually solving shiat

/execution-wise there are obviously issues
//which is why this kind of shiat needs vast farking amounts of oversight
///it's not so much the existence of the policy as the lack of accountability vis a bis the policy being invoked

I'm telling you, this disinformation shiat is an effective technique
It's a friggin' ace!
