What a pisser!

Also, don't eat ON the plane. Eat before, or after. Food is MUCH better and there's more room.

If you're flying first class for the food, anything except Cathay Pacific is going to disappoint.

Eat on the ground like a mature adult and use first class for alcohol.

You kinda have to eat on a long flight, or  fast for 14+ hours, which is hard to do drunk and on benzos

The saddest part is steerage used to get better snacks than that.

I rode First Class yesterday: Had coffee and they gave each of us a clear plastic bag with a small bottle of water, tiny bag of pretzel, and Biscotti cookie. I tell you, the rich have it made. MADE, I tell you.

I miss when I was a kid and I'd visit my dad in Seattle and have to take a flight that had multiple stops (stay on the plane).  It turned a 3 hour trip into 9 hours my my mom knew this and packed me a bag full of snack stuff to eat on the plane.  I'd munch on that while flying or sitting on the tarmac in Phoenix or Las Vegas or Reno or wherever.

Dude. Bring a sandwich onboard from Starbucks or something, anything is better than an airplane sandwich...

meh, if you're paying for what should be the minimum societal nicities then you should get them. I don't mind this lady complaining, maybe one day I'll have a job and employer that gets me up there again and I'll get microwaved salmon like I should.

TAP Air Portugal was actually really good and had some very nice Portuguese wines. The bread tasted like actual fresh baked bread.

People think I'm crazy when I tell them that on Greece's Aegean airlines you get a hot snack such as spanakopita in coach; even on short flights of an hour or less.

First-class people must be picky eaters. At least picky enough to write a onemealatatime.com  story about. I only flew first-class once. It was from Lansing MI to Pittsburgh PA. Ticket conflict. Near the end of my flight I was offered a hot wet towel for my face. WTF?

Airline food from the 60's.  Before flying became nothing more than the passengers being
cattle, locked in an aluminum tube, with no room, putting up with moronic passengers etc.
To borrow a line from one of the original seven Mercury Astronauts, "...sitting on top of something
that went to the lowest bidder".

That never existed. I've been flying for a long time. Like, I used to smoke on the plane. Food has certainly gotten worse, along with everything else about flying, but you were never offered buffet service.

At 6' 4" tall, I find any additional room a premium. I don't like to eat, even on long flights because I don't like using aircraft sh*tters. I can easily make a 12 hour trip without eating anything.

My husband and I any time we look at the menu at a Greek restaurant or walk past a grocery store frozen section: Spanakopita!

Before all this Covid shiat hit, I flew out to my sister's in Colorado for Christmas. On the way back, since it was an early afternoon flight, I got two of those tiny bags of Fritos, 2 Dos Equis and a cup of coffee. That's all I needed, it wasn't a very long flight.

This was a transatlantic flight, I presume?  You don't get the same quality on the Lisbon-Luanda route.  Trust me.  I've made that trip many times.

No idea if BA is still as good but back in the 90s I flew them over to Europe and we had a steak in steerage class and they even gave us steak knives and other real cutlery. Even compared to Lufthansa of the era it was great.

Well, I imagined I was the most interesting man on the plane, then I took a nap, and woke up when the coffee was coming around.

Domestic air sucks. It's the Greyhound of the Sky and they know it.
But hey--they got bailed out so they could turn around and fawk over their employees and the consumer base, so it's okay.

I love spanakopita.....Around this time of year, Sams has these little spanakopita finger food appetizer
things that are just delicious..Since I'm not a member, I've had to count on a family member to get them
for our fam gatherings...

Yeah. Like, I was expecting mold or a pill bug or something. Does it look good? No. Is it "revolting?" I guess to someone who's led an extremely, EXTREMELY sheltered life.

Aaaaand holy shiat I read the comments, Ray. Really puts into perspective how becoming accustomed to luxury can turn you into a whiny little biatch when not everything is to your exact expectations.

With having aced my ground school and a whole 2 hours toward by license I think I could land a airliner. On a good day.
